He says it's the exact same in Australia and pubs and clubs he remembers from his early days are long gone and not replaced. People just have different outlooks now everywhere, their social and entertainment habits have totally changed.

In the 90s you went to pubs and nightclubs to meet, enjoy company of people and be entertained. A quiet night was renting a video/DVD or going cinema. Maybe you'd to go to pub to watch a game on Sky.

Now you sit on your couch have multiple conversations and group chats using a device in the palm of your hand. You can instantly watch anything on the TV or online. Sports of all sorts are beamed into the home. The can or bottle of wine is in the fridge if you want.

To be truly entertained you travel to big events, weekends overseas or exotic holidays. In the 90s you might plan a week in Santa Ponsa or Gran Canaria. The all Ireland winners went to the Canary Islands for their team holiday in early spring.

Young people are different now, it's Gyms, saunas, Tinder, Hyrox, Australia, Electric Picnic, Concerts and events. The trip to the pub or a nightclub is too ordinary for them to get excited about.

people used to poop themselves after too much to drink, now they do it at sporting events

It's getting dark and gloomy in the mornings now. That can mean only one thing. Yes it's time for joggers to rtn to the roads. My commute has a 10 minute stretch through narrow twisty country lanes. During the summer with lots of light no jogger anywhere to be seen but as soon as it gets dark and murky they start to appear. The road is very narrow and full of bends, plenty of parks and nice residential areas with wide footpaths nearby but no that won't do and if it wasn't dangerous enough they add a few other factors into the mix.

1. Dark clothes are essential. Nothing bright at all otherwise you might be seen
2. Run on the road facing away from the traffic. No point being able to see what's around you that would be too sensible.
3. Head phones on music playing. If we can't see any danger we might us well cut off another of our senses just for the craic.

I honestly don't understand it. Do people not know the danger they are putting themselves into. I'm amazed there haven't been any fatalities near me.

Even if it was for his fathers funeral, he should have been cuffed and tagged, went to the service and returned straight away.

The court overruled the wishes of the prison service, buck must stop initially with the judge, then those that set up a civilian as a chaperone, of course obviously with the lad breaking free after that
