Quote from: bennydorano on October 13, 2026, 11:37:25 AMUnless you were the ref that doesn't matter, he got a justified red. Interesting to see on what grounds it was overturned (apart from the funny handshakes routine).
Have you seen the video? If thats a red card the games gone lol.

Anyway, it's overturned now

seen it in real time. Raised arm and was high. Was a red card all day. Funnily enough, I think that cost CE the game. As you say, its been overturned and hes free to play the final
Strange thing to say that the opposition's best player getting sent off cost CE, but I get what you mean. Wasn't at the game but from talking to people that were, Rian going off seemed to flip a switch and get the other lads particularly Oisin to lift everything another level. That plus maybe a case of Clann Eireann thinking job done at that stage I'm not sure.

Cross have the fire power to absolutely blow Killeavy out of the water early on but hopefully it's tight game and goes down to the wire.

Rian was cooked at that stage. Not surprising given how much football he missed. Prob played a part in the tackle. A lot going through him. When he went off cross flipped a switch and as you say CE didn't handle it well

Am I looking back with selective memory or did that Cross team in their pomp tend to play better when they got a lad sent off?

St bridgids v Rossa (for anyone who's interested)

So many matches was likely to leave one out.

Quote from: marty34I know Páirc Tailteann is out of action currently but is that D/Ashbourne playing at home in the Meath County Final?

If so, strange one?

On the Clubber TV preview they said Donaghmore Haven't played in Ashbourne during this championship but Wolfe Tones have.

Speaking of which the Clubber coverage this weekend.

Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Captain Obvious

Killeavy first final since 1988 and last win in 1948.  Crossmaglen have won it 47 times I wonder who the neutrals will like to see win that final..

No but Donaghmore/Ashbourne is the same club?

Meath Senior Football Final is in DM/Asbourne pitch.

And they are playing in the final...on their home pitch.

Rossfan

Possibly the only venue with enough spectator accomodation??
2026 the year of the 9 Cups

Possibly. Maybe Dunganny? The Meath COE.

But hard to imagine getting playing a senior county final on your own pitch/venue.

Happened to Omagh a few times and then the Dubs for Leinster/All Ireland finals.

As a neutral, genuinely not bothered, obviously be brilliant to see Kileavey win it to have a new winner. Absolutely would not begrudge Cross the win though given the dark days that community has had in the last few years, first final since the passing of young Caolan Finnegan, obviously lost Margaret McConville this year and Rian has had his own share of well documented issues.

Know plenty of great lads on both sides and from both clubs, so just hoping for a cracker of a game. Some serious talent on both sides.

I know yet the fella on the preview was making the point Wolf Tones had more recent experience playing in that venue. Was also said the venue for the final was chosen in January.

Captain Scarlet

Maynooth through to their first Kildare Final in 100 years.
They beat Naas after extra time. And Athy AET in 1/4 Final, so the last two champions.

Ok. Probably as PT is undergoing work this year. About time too. Very run down stadium.
