So if Arsenal win the league and Fabregas scores 16 and counting from midfield and sets up most of the other goals.

Who's player of the year then?

That's just if Arsenal win it.

Don't worry it's a English thing and going in to the world cup it will be Rooney!

fabregas Goals 14 assists 15
Rooney goals 23 assists 4
Drogba goals 19 assists 9

true but you can't really compare Henry to Pele either he was amazing at just 16/17

could be said that Fabregas sets up more goals than henry also?

Could also be said that Fabregas is a midfielder.............

Yes but didn't a Right winger score 42 goals one season?

Player of the year isn't the player with most goals or assists..Rooney is head and shoulders above anyone else in the premiership right now=PLAYER OF THE YEAR

And how do you work that out? Stats....Can't prove or disprove anything without stats..

QuoteVan Der Sar keeps more clean sheets than Rooney.

Nope.  Don't recall Rooney letting too many goals past him.

Thankfully nothing significant is awarded on stats.........

Ok so we will just wait until its named then  ;)

The Watcher Pat

He's English just before a WC year...Even if he had a average year it would be him.

But my argument is stat's prove it all. When they decide it and if he get's it because he scored 30 goals..sure that's a stat is it not.. Fair play he has had a  amazing this year...Take nothing away from him but its always decided on stats....If he get's it I could have no argument at all...

What excatly are you trying to say?? you think Rooney is player of the year or not?

The Watcher Pat

What i'm saying is its decided on stat's..

You cant just say he had so many great games...has to be proved by stat's.

You say he's been head and shoulders above everyone. How do you prove that?

Then you'll be able to explain how David Ginola won Player of the Year in 1999 ahead of Keane, Scholes, Cole or Yorke?
