QuoteGARY NEVILLE has stuck the boot in on Liverpool by blasting: You got what you deserved!
The Manchester United skipper is well-known for his run-ins with Reds fans over the years.

And he has wasted no time in twisting the knife after Rafa Benitez's side were knocked out of the Champions League this week.

Neville said: "As a team, you get what you deserve don't you?

"We are where we are because we deserve to be there and it's the same with Liverpool.

"We went out ourselves a few years back. They just haven't performed well enough in the Champions League to get the results."

Good man Gary :D

Pretty much the same as what Gerrard said after the match - non story

Fair play to Neville, he must have learnt how to read since he stopped trying to grow his Tache. First Fergie has a go at agents and a few days later Neville repeats it in an interview. Now he repeats Stevie G.

Who's next for the Neviller? Obama? Cowen? Hawkings?

I've heard he echoes Simon Cowells opinion on Jedward

full back

Poor result after a bright start but in the grand scheme of things it wont matter much.

Macheda's development seems to have slowed significantly after a few good showings last season.
Wellbeck is a bit like Forrest Gump in that if you opened the gates I think he would go through them and just keep running.

Hope Hargreaves can get back to form as he can provide what the midfield has been missing all season.
Hope this happens around/just after Christmas time

Bingo, the United youth system is top class.  Look at the players playing around the Premier League who have came through the ranks and the like of Welbeck etc have bright furtures - look at his goals last year for United, some crackers and he is still very young.

QuoteLovely guy alright. Has he apologised yet for breaking Drogba's ribs yet in a tackle similar to which Schumacher was riled?

As for Evans, seems a nice fella and Drogba deserved what he got as it seemed like he was trying to connect with Evans when he was in the air.

You're just guessing nrico2006. Pure speculation. You can guarantee if it was Essien on Rooney, there would've been a ban, and massive 'hate' campaign against Essien.

I'm not convinced, Wellbeck is a bit part player getting the odd goal in comfortable games. He's not still very young, he's young but at his age the real stars had already made names for themselves as outstanding players not outstanding potential - Rooney, Fab, Gerard, Fowler etc etc. I'd be more impressed if he was tapping in goals at the back post. United bought Owen cause they didn't trust him or the Italian Stallion. Luke Chadwick Mark 2.

Who's the players who came through the ranks playing in the EPL? Are they staring at United? Therefore system not working.

Evans should have been gone for that tackle, Drogba should be sent off every time he dives, which is nigh on every game.

He should be booked every time he dives. Again you can't change the rules to suit certain players, despite what Fergie wants.

Fergie has wasted millions and the youth system must be a mess at United. How can he justify the money he has spent when their second string plus some senior players can't beat a very poor Turkish team? They didn't even seem driven to try and impress. Dunphy is right.

Plus what was the point in signing Owen if he won't even start in a game like that?

one of the best youth system in the world united have had since fergie took over & it's still producing top class players that will save millions!

very poor Turkish team? sure they finish bottom of the group but they are still the Turkish Champions, & only last week they beat the Turkish leaders 3-0

some fan's have a poor memory it seems? the team that lined out last night was pretty much that same as the team that won the carling cup & got to the semi final of the fa cup (losing on penos)

when Dunphy gets something right i'll win the lotto lol  :D

ross4life

these results do happen when you play a weakened team ;)

let me compare Man united with the European Champions Barcelona

last year.. Barcelona 2 Shakhtar Donetsk 3
this year   Barcelona 0 Rubin Kazan 1

I have to agree with Ross4life.  United played a weakened side against the current Turkish Champions, and putplayed them for the 90 minutes.  Then you compare the standard of teams in United Group to those in other groups, teams such as Debrecen who most people have never even heard of.
