QuoteIsn't Alan Green a hateful bollix though? He hates United with a passion. A hateful, spiteful wee hoor.

Had to laugh tho when Gerrard scored the last peno, he shouts "Are you watching Manchester?"

He should be on Radio Merseyside.  So biased angaist anyone that Liverpool play he's an embarassment to the "impartial" BBC.  He borders on racist when commentating on England games but has tamed his xenophobia recently, probably on orders from above.

Radio Merseyside? LFCtv more like, incredibly biased with an awful disliking for Rooney.

Did anyone hear Fergison argue that Scholes should not have been sent off.  :D

Wayne Rooney will escape punishment for the on-field tantrum he displayed after being sent off at Fulham, Sportsmail understands.

The Manchester United striker was handed an automatic one-match ban for being shown two yellow cards in the champions' defeat at Craven Cottage on Saturday.
But he will escape further action for remonstrating with the referee, his tardiness in leaving the pitch and his petulant swing at the corner flag as he headed for the tunnel.

Sportsmail understands that referee Phil Dowd included none of the incidents in his match report, so the fiery England international will not be charged.
Rooney, 23, and his boss Sir Alex Ferguson felt the sending off  was harsh. Rooney threw the ball in the direction of the referee, to a position where United had won a free-kick, as an ill-tempered United pushed to get back into the match.

His conduct was reminiscent of Javier Mascherano's rant at Steve Bennett at Old Trafford a year ago this month.
The Argentina midfielder was charged with improper conduct, fined £15,000 and given an extra two-match ban after refusing to leave the pitch promptly during his side's 3-0 defeat.

Surely not? Is oul whiskey snout really losing it? The next thing he'll be counting how many players Liverpool have used in their reserves this season...oh wait a minute ??? :o

Whoever wrote that shit (Sportmail) needs their head read. Two immediate differences - Rooney didn't need to be ushered from the field by his team mates and didn't have to be restraned from going after the referee by his manager and subs.

Another key differee is that Rooney shouldn't have been sent off. I saw a camera angle on Sky Sports there which clearly shows he threw the ball to Evans.

Exactly these are the two incidents. Rooney begins to walk off the pitch, of his own volition, 8 seconds after being shown the red card. Mascherano is dragged off by about half a dozen players and staff nearly a minute after getting his red. Only an idiot would make the comparison.

While harsh Seanie, I honestly don't think he can have any complaints. It is indicative of the PL that there is little or no threshold for indiscipline. He threw the ball in a very agreeive manner, look where it ended up, and that area was close to the referee. Mascherano's failure to get off the pitch is righlty different. But the original second booking where he asked what the first one was for contained no foul language, so ironically it can be used as an example of how little leeway there is.

So in conclusion, harsh, but in that league you know you are not going to get away with it.

Did you see the angle from behind the goal Corn? Ball went exactly where the foul had occurred and where the free was to be taken.

It is heartening and refreshing to see Premier League referees and officials finally applying the same sanctions to Man United players that the rest of the Premier League players have to adhere to.  Its late in the season but better late than never.
