QuoteErm, Arsenal. Why?

LOL at least United offer top price for whomsoever they buy.   Arsenal bleed the youth of French clubs for free to avoid having to pay the complusory compensation to local English clubs abd promote youth development in the UK!

That's the thing about Utd that irks most people. Whereas most clubs attempt to discover their own talent, Utd just cream off what they see as the best players from teams in their division - Going right back to Cantona, Sheringham, Yorke, Cole, Saha, Tevez, Rooney, Carrick, Ferdinand, Van Der Sar, and so on.... Salax is good at that though.

:D
ONeill, I actually thought you knew something about soccer :D

:D :D :D :D What team do you support again?

Erm, Arsenal. Why?

And the last youth player to come through the ranks at arsenal is.....

Justin Hoyte??

Are we forgetting Fergie's Fleglings? - No other top club promotes the youth acedemy more than UTD!

That was a total one off, how many will come through from last years FA Youth Final? Be lucky if you get 2 from either team.

Henrik Larsson poised for United return

Henrik Larsson could make an unexpected return to Manchester United to act as cover for Carlos Tevez and Wayne Rooney.

Sir Alex Ferguson had hoped to convince Tottenham to sell Dimitar Berbatov, and the Bulgarian remains his preferred option, but has been put off by the London club's valuation of the player.

Swede memories: Larsson was a huge success at Old Trafford
Reports in yesterday's papers suggested Ferguson had lined up a bid that involved the unsettled Wes Brown and Louis Saha heading in the opposite direction to Berbatov.

However, though Brown would be a useful addition to an underperforming Spurs defence, his wage demands as he becomes a free agent in the summer and hopes to cash in on that fact would make him less desirable and Ramos is known to have reservations about Saha's ability.

Tottenham, who would rather keep the player, would want around £20 million in cash if he were to leave so that they could replace Berbatov with another international class striker as well as invest in other areas of the team.

That figure has forced Ferguson to look elsewhere and Larsson, who impressed during a three month loan spell at Old Trafford at the start of the year, has come back into his thoughts.

Larsson's previous spell at United was viewed as something of a coup for Ferguson. He scored three goals in 13 appearances and his all round contribution to United's Championship wining season was immense.

Ferguson tried to convince the 36-year-old Swede to make his move permanent but Larsson had already committed to his home town club Helsingborgs. That deal has now expired meaning the former Celtic and Barcelona player is free to listen to offers and could stay with United to the end of the season.

Larsson would not be eligible for Champions League matches but to have someone with such talent and experience to shoulder the domestic attacking load with his other main strikers means Ferguson would not view this as a major draw back.

Larsson is this season's top scorer in the Uefa cup and, despite his advancing years, is still one of the smartest and respected forwards in the game.

Has King Henrik got some photos of Sir Alex at a previous Man Utd Xmas party...............Surely he is finished at the top level.

Good one!  We need a poacher, and Defoe could be an option.  Anelka's attitude might hinder his chances of coming to Old Trafford.  Looking forward to getting a win over City!

Was suprised myself to hear about Larsson
Dont think he is up to this level now, although last year he proved a capable stop gap
I think we need to sign a permanant striker & offload Saha

He did well last year, but his goal return was poor and thats what United need at the minute.  He is finished at the top level, ffs he is 36 odd is he not?

At the top level (Champions League knockout) he may be finished but he'll do grand in the Premiership.
