Utd are clearing the decks it seems;

Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic  Jesse Lingard are all gone, Anthony Martial , Eric Bailly. Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Dean Henderson and Phil Jones probably should be leaving also.

Who's replacing them?
I'd say Bailly, Martial and Wan Bissaka will stay. Not because they're any good but because realistically 10 or 11 players won't be coming in this summer. Henderson is apparently one of the leaks in the dressing room along with Lingard, if so then good riddance to both.
He probably wont be able to get shot of them all in the one window, but if offers come in I dont see Ten hag wanting to keep any of them.
Very very few players in the squad deserving another chance. Genuinely wouldn't be bothered by any of them leaving as the only ones who were anywhere near meeting the standards needed were Ronaldo and De Gea. Problem is who will want our cast offs on crazy money.

The fact those 2 players stood out with their own limitations, Ronaldo's age and De Gea just not being the modern keeper you need now, tells you where that squad is. You could make a genuine argument to get rid of every player in the squad, including those 2 and Bruno.
Yeah agreed although Bruno probably has enough credit in the bank from his first season to deserve another chance, not too many others have though.

I think the manager will be best placed to see first hand what needs done and where the problems lie, whether he has enough authority to carry out a clear out and bring in what he wants is debatable.

How many people have walked into any job and seen the problems and expressed how this would best work and been told "we're on it" and feck all done?

This period reminds me of before Ferguson and even the initial period before the Robbins FA cup run, Big Ron's time was big name footballers and the odd cup win and no real effort put in but decent wages..

Maybe the new guy will be different, who knows

ETH is the epitome of the modern manager, I doubt he would have taken the role on without assurances that he would have final say on all comings and going regardless of who that involved or the financial implications (outgoings in the main)

ETH family are one of the wealthiest in the Holland so he has never taken any role based on what his financial gain is likely to be.

RR will have given him the inside scoop on what he thinks the issues are and then he will obviously have to make up his own mind, one of the benefits is that so many have already made the call to leave of their own accord. This give him the opportunity to really quite quickly reshape the squad which otherwise might not have been possible.

I think if he creates a hard working likeable team most fans would settle for that in the meantime until he can get them challenging again (hopefully) for the past few seasons they have been anything but likeable and that has led to the apathy around them.

Here's hoping he can at least achieve that bit quickly.

First point of call is getting back into the CL which is going to be very difficult, The top 2 are miles ahead and Spurs will invest heavily this summer and will have Conte from the start. Depends on how much Tuchel gets to spend at Chelsea, their losing 2 good centre half's and Silva is nearly 38.

No quick fix here, he's clearly going to be left with players he doesn't want and can't get rid of this summer and likely will be only be able to bring in 4 or 5 players this summer. There are 8 or 9 fringe players who could likely raise a good sum this summer if they choose to get rid of them but United for the best part of a decade seem intent on loaning players who will never be good enough. Football is big business and City, Liverpool & Chelsea have been able to keep spending big partly because of the fees they generate when selling something which United are appalling at.

Mason Greenwood will be another conundrum for the club if he's not charged, there's no chance the Glazers will release him.

United fanbase is patient as long as they are entertained and can see progress, since Fergie has left the football has been dire for about 90% of the time; Hoping that changes.

With CL changing soon I thought it would be a lot easier for the likes of mid table Utd to get into that competition

Likelihood is finishing 5th from 23/24 is good enough to qualify for the CL.

Who is going to buy Wan Bissaka? Going to be sold at a huge loss. Martial's woeful time in Spain will put a lot of teams off. Henderson will probably go to a decent club and be a solid player. Rashford probably just about has enough credit in the bank to get another chance under a new manager although if he doesn't pull his head out of his arse he'll be out the door too.

Wan Bissaka will have a good few suitors, he had plenty of good games in his first 2 seasons but like everyone else this season he was appalling and clearly isn't technically proficient enough for a manager like Ten Hag; Wages will be a big issue although like everyone else at OT his will be affected by failing to make the CL so might make it easier to shift.

Martial is on huge money, no club will get near matching them so suspect he'll take a wage cut to leave. I just don't see Ten Hag wanting him given his lack of mentality, lots of ability but not prepared to work hard enough.

Ten Hag likely going to have to get a tune out of a good few players he doesn't want for probably the next 2 seasons as long as he's still in the job. I'd like to think there's a few players at the club who's future looks uncertain now but he can improve which is what top coaches like Klopp do.

There's a couple of really talented youngster in Mejbri & Garnacho who both look to have some real quality, lets hope there talent can be harnessed.

Wan Bissaka going back to Palace on loan with obligation too buy - Martial looking like going to Italy, Inter keen on him but there was talk we just pay up his wages to get rid of him. Henderson is going to Newcastle deal near done.

As for Rashford he's no credit in the bank too me, he's been terrible for 18 months and got told by senior figures at the club to focus on football instead of his outside works due to his poor form but he refused. He's been one of the leakers along with Grant, Henderson and Lingard and for me and a lot of others would love to get the £50m for and invest that in midfield.

Garnacho would be great to see get a run of games along with Hannibal and Garner be great to see how he gets on after being on loan at Forest

Rashford needs to go ffs, that's exactly whats wrong with utd - clinging onto wasters yrs too long hoping by some miracle they may change their ways. We were talking about Pogba getting the boot when Mourinho was in charge and yet he is still there stinking the place out.
I think the big secret about Rashford is he was never very good but did a job but now his hunger has gone he is next to useless, to think idiots were talking about 150million move to Real Madrid not that long ago  :o
