Made hard work of that but got the win eventually. Some awful individual performances by United and not for the first time Lingard looked like a poor pub player.

A great effort by Norwich especially with 10 men for all of extra time. I wouldn't have fancied United in a penalty shootout with the form Tim Krul was in tonight.

Utd were rubbish, you can't just make 7 or 8 changes and expect to be good.

With the amount of time off you'd expect them to be fit and raring to go
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

The cups have been used to make changes all season and today starting 11 was basically the same team as what started against Derby in the last round.  As I said on Wednesday one eye would be on Brighton this Tuesday who aren't in action this weekend.

Solskjaer used the same line on the telly as if it was a couple of weeks ago, it's heading for four months since that game. You can't expect to make the amount of changes made and for lads with little or no football to come in and play with any kind of rhythm or fluency....

Anyway got through it and got more minutes into guys that need it.

Finally, football without fans is shit really isn't it!!

Yeah it's very timid without fans. Ighalo took his goal well. Norwich played decent,  they will likely go down in the League so the Cup was where they could give it a lash.
Cantwell will attract interest from a few clubs when the season ends.

Drawn against Chelsea in the FA Cup semi final. United beat them twice in the league and knocked them out of the league cup this season. A 4th win in a row or the case that Chelsea will be due a win?

Chelsea always seem to have United's number when it come to the FA Cup.

It's annoying to lose a semi final, and worse, a final. They'll have to beat Chelsea then City. Tough ask.

Not always as beat them 2-0 in last seasons 5th round and bet them in regularly in FA Cup ties in the 90s. In between Chelsea had four 1-0 wins against United.

A tough ask to beat both Chelsea and City but would be a good achievement if this cup is won beating both.

Utd have beaten both of them three times this season.... Whatever you want to make of that. Not sure when semis are so an extra fixture might lead to changes depending on Top 4 situation at that time. The final will probably be played the same week City have to play in Champ League against Madrid so they probably prioritize that...

All in all, a lot of ifs and buts

Much like the Sheffield United game a routine win for Man United. Not an easy place to get a victory, just ask Mourinho who managed United to a couple of defeats in Amex Stadium.

The Bruno signing has certainly made a difference a player that Ole wanted to sign last summer and if Woodward didn't mess up that deal United could have a Champions league spot already secured.

GJL

15 games unbeaten. 4 goals conceded and 38 scored.

OK they are on a decent run at the moment but we know they are still a way off competing regularly for the top spots.

So what is it going to take signings wise to get them there?
Priorities for this summer?

A centre back, preferably a pacy one, to compliment Maguire.

If Pogba stays, I think midfield is fine.

Probably a right winger like Sancho. Greenwood looks a serious talent but that's all there is for that position. I don't rate James tbh. Having rashford, Martial, Greenwood and Sancho for the 3 front positions would be needed over an entire season.

A good pacey left back too. Don't think Shaw is good enough enough anymore.  Williams is a good player but probaly not not ready to start regular.

Enjoyed that last night but its very obvious when the subs are made that we lack strength in depth, if United fail to make the CL its because Fernandes wasn't bought last summer.

Signing a right winger is a must and if United are going to continue to play in this style we could do with a back up for Fernandes/Pogba. Like many on here I don't think Shaw/Lindelof are good enough to be starting but they'll likely get the chance to improve next season.

I don't trust the Glazers/Woodward to get it right this summer, just hope they've learned from previous years.

I'm not a fan of Pogba but his form since he came back has been brilliant, whether they can persuade him to sign a contract is another issue.
