Looks like Fellaini is for the chop. Hardly suprising.

No real evidence to say he or Kagawa are off other than a journalist trying to fill a few lines. If true it's very harsh for Fellaini in my eyes.At least half a dozen have had a lot more opportunities to prove themselves.

It is all about fitting into a system and I think he offers nothing to the system LVG prefers to play.

Shrewdness

Napoli are said to want Fellaini. 15 M was mentioned or a loan deal for the season with a view to buy after that. I'd prefer to take a fee for him now and get rid of him.

Actually feel sorry for him, not his fault he was a panic buy at the end of a window. What player is going to turn down a move from Everton to United with the chance of working with a manager that obviously rated him highly.

Seems like he couldnt handle going from being one of the main men, to actually having to fit into a system where he wasnt.
Not sure if it is just his confidence left him completely or that he just doesnt have it technically, but its never nice to see a player go through it ala Torres.

Totally agree with you about Fellaini. The mob have spoken though . He will have no shortage of offers if MU want rid of him. Collateral damage in the Moyes sacking.

His missed a good chunk of the season too , through a wrist injury in December and then a hamstring injury when he had only returned from that injury in Feburary.

Should know one way or the other on Vidal today http://t.co/3kOaY3ZSof

I remember reading an article about Moyes when he was at Everton, which later became a Football Focus feature.

In it, the journalists were allowed into a private room, where Moyes and his coaching staff maintained "one of the most extensive scouting and team planning bunkers in the world". The gist of it was that Moyes always had at least two options for every position, and was always grooming a third, either from youth or from the scouting network. The role of scouts was to ensure that the third options were being monitored extensively at all times. If a player was underperforming or looking out, they made a move.

This, the journos reckoned, was Moyes' secret edge that kept Everton afloat for a decade.

Since then, Roberto Martinez made Everton a much better team by simply buying in a couple of better players. Meanwhile, Moyes spent £27m on a poor man's Tim Cahill (who was an average player in himself), and tried to fit him into a team in which he had no position to play. It's one of the oddest transfers I've ever seen, and at polar opposites with the image that these interviews tried to suggest.

I don't know if there's a moral to this story, apart from almost everyone involved in football being completely full of shit. Moyes didn't do an awful lot right at Man Utd last season, but the Fellaini purchase ranks with the worst of decisions.

I couldn't understand why it took him so long to come back from a wrist injury. You can play soccer with a wrist/arm injury.

I don't have any sympathy for Fellaini. He's a millionaire for doing something he loves. His current employers don't require his services but will make sure to get him another job, albeit a lesser job, but it will pay him millions. Why feel sorry for him? Get a grip.

I hope the above is not true about Kagawa. He should be kept and I believe he will be, even if only as cover for Mata and Rooney.

Just saw Wobbler's post - nail on the head.

Where did I say I felt sorry for him? Just saying he missed a good chunk of the season. As for Kawaga ,he is suppose to be on the way out. Van Gaal said he had too many players at number 10.

Great start for the kid that demanded such a crazy fee  :-[ How in hell would you let yourself arrive unfit to Man Utd and Louis Van Gaal after a multi-million pound deal  ???

I dont think the 'kid' had anything to do with the transfer fee that was paid.

He is young and LVG is an experienced manager looking to play with wing backs knows what it will take, so rather than being unfit, he probably wants him to be even fitter considering the increased demands of playing as a wing back.

Was he not part of Englands World Cups squad as well??

Shrewdness

Reports that United have told some journalists ''close to the club'', not to believe all the foreign media reports about Vidal joining United. They say it's not happening, no bid has been made and no contact with Juventus.... Yet reports in Chile and Italy insist a deal is likely, with some even saying that Vidal has reached a verbal agreement with United.. So, who's telling the truth?
