The game all about speed now, the Armagh front 6 are all faster than any of our front 6, We havent been up to the speed of a championship game for a long time. Not changing tactics from the start of the year to suit the new rules and blooding alot of players has come bck to bite us. We zero set plays for 2pters, more hit and hope when we behind.

Murray will be very unlikely to play the next day after getting a bang.

The difference between the two teams can be best summed up by Glass consistently turning and playing the ball backwards 30 yards whenever we won the ball around midfield. We are far too negative/slow in possession.

Very constructive. He has been asked to play a kind of hybrid role which hasn't really been effective. I do think if him and Rogers were just moved back to midfield it would be much better. Glass is a number 8 and always will be. Rogers and him formed a formidable partnership.

We need to go back to basics. McEvoy at 3. Glass and Rogers in midfield. Big Higgins back now should hopefully help that. Not too many more physically capable than a Glass, Rogers, Higgins trio- even moving McEvoy to 6 would leave some spine.

Something isn't clicking and I think it's because we are trying to be too smart with positional changes.

Whatever happens we probably need to stick with this management and get stability which I'm fairly sure is what will happen. They have made mistakes but we have a number of players who are off form and aren't playing with confidence. The bottom line is we have a good team for the old rules and we need to rethink our game plan and selection for the new rules. That goal scored by bobby mccaul today is one derry wouldn't score in a million years even though Lachlan murray is well capable of a goal like that. I can't believe sean kearney didn't get a run out yesterday, he's looked like he'll score every time he's got a chance this year.

Said exactly the same when it was scored.

A brilliant weekend for the hurlers. Well done to Johnny and the squad. The highest level of hurling Derry will have played in 25 years. Given the number of players who walked away from the panel after the London defeat that must be extra sweet for the lads who have soldiered on like Cormac and Meehaul.

We have a major rebuild required which needs to happen next day out. It's cliche to say but players here are being picked on reputation. We have zero competition for places. Whoever we play next - and I hope to f*#k it's somebody we can handle - we need to drop some big names. Who I'd go with

1. S McGuckin
2. D Baker
3. R Forbes
4. C McCluskey
5. C Doherty
6. E McEvoy
7. P McGrogan
8. J Sargent
9. T Rogers
10. E Young
11. N Toner
12. P Cassidy
13. N Loughlin
14. L Murray
15. S Young

Unlucky to miss out - R O'Mainain. I'm assuming M Downey is still with the squad but injured.

Based on current form I don't see how we can start Glass, McGuigan, B Rogers, McKinless or E Doherty. These lads owe us nothing but we need mobility and speed. But we will need them off the bench. We should be building a midfield around Sargent and Rogers and an attack around Lachlan.
