Amhrán na bhFiann itself only closely beat O'Donnell Abú to be the Irish National anthem in a public vote in 1928. O'Donnell Abú itself would have made a fine rousing anthem. Always felt the Scots borrowed a good bit of the melody for Scotland the Brave although the Scots will say they sound nothing alike. However if there has to be a compromise one thing Ireland is not short of is great ancient melodies that would make fine anthems. Just not Irelands Call please.

Ireland's Call, I'll never  ever stand to attention for that ball of  shite.

As good as spot as any for this....

"The Ulster Scots and English dual language streets signs will be erected at Ravenscroft Avenue, running between the Upper Newtownards Road and Beersbridge Road in east Belfast.

The other 48 streets approved at the committee will get dual language street signs in Irish and English.

The Ulster Scots street signs will have "Corbiescroft Evvenye" as well as the regular English Ravenscroft Avenue name on them.

I would let them have ulster Scots signs wherever they want. It makes them look like idiots.
