I don't know but  something has to change.  28 years  on from the GFA , and you have the British PM saying a referendum is off  the table.  It ain't up to  him. But the  stipulations are so vague , all British PM's for the next  100 years will spout the same  crap

Whether any of us  here actually  want or would vote for a UI is irrelevant but the timing of and  criteria for a referendum needs  set in stone.

I said it earlier it should be united Ireland parties having a greater % over unionist parties over the next 3/4 elections. Independents can declare themselves one way or the other. Middle ground parties and independents who don't declare have opted themselves out of the debate and should be ignored. Tired of the same spoofers saying nationalism has stalled on 42% over 30 yrs but ignore the 12% drop in the unionist vote

Former British prime minister Gordon Brown has said it is inevitable that Ireland will become united at some point in the future.

He added that it would be a "long process" and have to be based on mutual agreement.

Whenever Micheal Martin stands down the Irish Government should go full scale preparation for Unity.  There is a strong possibility after AE2027 that there will be more MLAs in favour of a United Ireland than those opposed to it. If the Irish Government continue to ignore the issue then I would really love to see SF/SDLP/PBP walk out of Stormont and head straight to Dail Eireann and demand action.  That couldn't be ignored! I know the Brits are still in  charge,  but until The Irish government stand up  nothing will ever change.

An Irish govt with a spine would be lobbying the EU and US (assuming they return to half normal post Trump) rather than doing the DUP's job for them.

Easy on Rossfan... if you're going to argue against doing the absolute bare basic thing of just a bit of lobbying in favour of Irish self-determination, you could very easily find yourself as leader of FF if you're not careful.
