Connolly is an unbelievable player. Some of the scores he got against us in the SF were unreal - 2 in particular involved him taking on half the Donegal team and still scoring. Savage stuff.

However I can't think of Connolly without thinking of the clip below. IMO it's one of the worst things I've ever seen on a football pitch. He literally could have left that Kildare lad in a wheelchair if he had made contact at the back of his neck. It was cowardly and reckless and pathetic.

So while I will always acknowledge his natural ability, I cannot warm to the man or respect him. Compare him to Paul Flynn - my favourite Dublin player. Not only one of the best HFs in the country but also a real gent.
