He was kind of hard done by though. He asked the registrar to expedite scheduling an appeal, at the behest of his neighbour. This was deemed  "open to misinterpretation". However, the appeal was arranged before the wrong judge and that was seriously dodgy and created a major issue and O'Flaherty went down with the cross currents generated.

While he clearly took the fall, and they tried to give him a big European job, he was far from innocent

And what exactly is a supreme Court judge doing contacting the registrar to move an appeal hearing in the first place? It was moved and somehow ended up in front of the wrong judge, the DPP and Gardai weren't told about the hearing and only came to light when the junior civil servant who physically brought the file to court was asked by his superior to explain where he was all morning. 

It was peak Bertie era FF corruption- a connected fella getting literally bust out of prison.

A Wexford community has been left devastated following the sudden death of a 16-year-old girl during a ladies football final on Tuesday night.
