What do you want to see?

Mickey to persist with playing to the strengths of the squad he has - all hand on deck at the back, retain possession and somehow work a score in rugby league like fashion? We'll beat most sides outside the top 3/4, scoring 0-15.

A fresh approach - scour the county for 1-2 real ball-winning strong forwards in the mould of a Freeman or Mannion or Donaghy - a couple of sticky corner backs.....and blend in the undoubted talent we have. Move the ball faster from 45 to 45. We might lose a few games initially.

I know Mickey knows more in his wee finger etc - but in a fantasy world...?
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

Customary McKenna Cup glory and an Ulster flame-out to someone like Cavan or Derry.

Have ye Tyronies not got any fans forum of ye're own?
Surely this should be in the Tyrone Section of GAAboard at least.

Are you suggesting some sort of Tyroniac concentration camp?

Would genuinely like to see the team adopt a more positive approach. I'm thinking on the half forward line in particular. We need to look closely at young & old here - playmakers like ray mulgrew & tommy McGuigan should be looked at alongside younger prospects like Tommy Canavan, Richie Donnelly.

Niall Morgan would have been worth a few points easily last Sunday. Far better at the kick outs, creative & accurate. Can kick a few scores as well. Packie gifted scores to Monaghan & Mayo. Keeps makin the same mistakes.

Would love to see Tyrone lead the way in terms of respecting referees. It costs us a point a game anyway, where a free is brought forward 10yds due to mouthing & yapping. We should adopt an approach where only the captain speaks to the ref. Colm Cav while culprit here. It's pointless yapping & achieves nothing. Learn to accept decision and move on.

Need to unearth a specialist man marker. Big ask & unlikely to come to fruition in 2014. Whatever about our development squads, we arnt producing this type of player.

Could be argued development squads are part of the problem.  They are not picking up that gurrier of a corner back or that lanky hallion midfielder.  They are giving lads a feeling of success too early - removing their hunger drive and raw unpredictability.

Spot on- players in these squads feel they have made it. I believe it prevents players developing naturally. We don't see the unpredictable players much in today's game. The shoot on sight men from any area of the attack, the Fay Devlin type corner backs- they don't survive in today's game. Too much coaching at that age- it's obvious with the conveyer belt, manufactured players we have today.

There was a misinterpretation there. Ye are Ireland's most desperate fans.
Desperate, as in desperate for a chance at AI glory, would sacrifice your mother in law for a AI final appearance and would give up the drink for 2 hours for a victory.

Sure if we're desperate are the Farney Army rabid or feral or something? The one time ye even made it to the big day ye could only stump up two points the whole game.

Mickey Harte is a legend so he should retire now while at the top. Give me a job in Jones Road organising a GAA football world cup.

Then we can all enjoy Tyrone club infighting bring the county back down to 1990's level.

Theres more than Tyrone doing this. Maybe its his Tyrone blood that kept a certain lanky Kerry forward moaning at refs for years ;).

I believe that allowing the captain only to address the ref would be positive but only if refs were taught to listen when a reasonable point is being made.

Without winning significant (although we'd take a McKenna cup in Armagh) silverware Tyrone have had a decent season.

Next year may see the likes of O'Neill and Gormley retire and despite some good young players coming through there doesn't seem to be enough to suggest they will improve any more in 2014.

Are Tyrone fans happy that Mickey is doing the best anyone can do or does it reach a stage like Pete McGrath in Down where a successful manager stays on too long?

Captain Obvious

I asked before the game on Sunday how many of the named Tyrone substitutions are likely to make impact? Tyrone 2014 and beyond will have to find a stronger bench.  Some of the experienced players are past their best and will need replacing. For all the minor success Tyrone haven't won Ulster U-21 title since 2006 for Tyrone to break into the top four they will have to start producing winning teams at that level again.
