I know what most answers are going to be but as someone who once fervently hoped they'd be whipped in every game yet found himself grinning like a Cheshire cat last night as they rained goals on Croatia, I'm curious as to what the scale of the antipathy is

But come soccer, I mean having to listen to Terry and Rooney claiming English players don't cheat the last week aghhhhh and their meeja drive me bloody mental so yes I hope they crash and burn.....

I honestly struggle to watch a full game of any of the above as the standard is so poor

Agree with this but the total bull that we have to listen to from the media means I side with Crash and burn. Ideal would be hammered in Final by Germany

Don't mind the team so much but all the pundits will build them up to be guaranteed winners after 1 match then when they get beat it in quarter final they will blame the referee for a possible penalty in the 5th minute and the daily mail will publish the address of the ref so that people can send him abuse.  Not to mention the guaranteed rioting after they get put out.

i personally find the likes of rooney, terry, lampard, owen, beckham and the likes sickening and very hard to like.

it also disgusts me to see irish men support england in any sport
we are all GAA people on this board, and probably predominantly from nationalist backgrounds (the northerners anyway), so why support the country we were at war with for decades?

call me old fashioned, bigoted or sectarian but i'll never support them.
