Ardboe by 2. 0-12 to 0-10.

Great game in Pomeroy this evening  with Ardboe deserving winners. The Moy took control in the first half on the scoreboard but Ardboe were playing the better football. Highlight of the half was great points from play from Gavin Teague and Sean Cavanagh. The Moy lead 0-7 to 0-6 with 5 of their points coming from placed balls. In the second half the teams traded points before the turning point in the game when Frank McGuigan was sent off for 2nd booking. Ardboe seemed to push on after this and Tommy McGuigan scored 2 huge frees to put Ardboe 2 up with not long left. The Moy cut the gap to the minimum but could not break through for the equaliser and Ardboe broke to score again to put 2 in it and finish the game.

No Moy players really stood out and the county men were well marshalled with Gavin Teague and Tommy McGuigan playing best for Ardboe. First time in a long time that I've seen such a good team performance from Ardboe, not many put a foot wrong tonight.

Did you the see free he gave against jordan,was the crucial score.Certainly did`nt give them much in the second half ,thought their was a few of the ardboe players threading the fine line in the second half.Ie mc conville who got a yellow for striking then 5 mins later got away with a tackle around the neck and  in saying that was probably the most influential player in the later stages.

You talking about the free when Jordan got the ball and thought he was playing rugby and tried to charge through a few Ardboe men? Big John didn't do a pile to Sean Cavanagh and Sean made the most of it. What about Colm Cav only getting booked for attempted punch on Marty McKeown? Or the Moy's no. 10 sly hit on Brian McGuigan when he was on the ground. Or Marty McKeown's fair shoulder to Sean Cavanagh when he put him on his ass and ref gave the Moy a free and converted. Over the course of the game the Moy got the majority of decisions but the ref couldn't make them play any better and the better team won by playing the better football.

To be fair to Ardboe they didnt target the county players (well not in an unfair dirty way) and won fair and sqaure. Wouldnt argue too much about the ref though I thought the free he gave against Phily Jordan was a big point in the match. It appeared that phily tried to run round the Ardboe man but was blown up for charging. Good luck to Ardboe going forward.

Not denying ardboe were the better team but thought mellon and a fit col cav would have made a big difference (running nearly on 1 leg)if fully fit.Tommy had a great game in midfield.More worringly for tyrone would be that 3 out of moys 4 county men need operations at the end of the year,sure they`ll probably be patched up with more injections,its the people in the stands that criticise these boys that dont know what they have to do sometimes to get onto the pitch to play(ask brian mc guigan).Good luck ardboe in the next round.
