The grade 2 semi finals arranged for this weekend did not takeplace, while in league division 3 this afternoon ,Castlederg 0.7 , Rock 0.9, with Tattyreagh 4.6, Newtownstewert 1.5.

Our pitch was in brilliant shape today and the day seemed to go well and hopefully this will be the start of many championship games at Michael Coney Park.

Have to agree there, for all the rain on friday and saturday the pitch was in top notch condition and this added greatly to what was in my opinion an excellent game of football. Cookstown probably deserved at least a draw, they totally dominated the second half but as orangeman pointed out the fianna goals were decisive. Mulgrew was unfortunate yesterday, he had an excellent game but missed a relatively easy free (compared to some of the ones he kicked earlier in the game) near then end that would have brought cookstown within 1 point of the fianna with enough time left for an equaliser.

Was reading Dominic McCaugheys speech for the convention. It would seem that the All County Leagues are going to start earlier this year - Possibly mid-february. Is there any truth in this.
