brilliant response. but my question is what exactly are the rules on this occasion?

clarshack

i'd say it is fair enough that it goes to a neutral venue. aghyaran finished above kildress in the league, therefore kildress should not get any kind of home advantage in these playoff games against aghyaran - no matter how many games it takes.
having said that kildress should beat them on a neutral ground.

tyroneboi

Common sense would mean Kildress get a home game for the replay but this is the county board we are dealing with so the chances of that coming into play are nil!

orangeman

The rules in place for this show that there was to be home advantage for one team over another for 2nd/3rd place from bottom.

Aghyaran had home advantage. Game ended in a draw.

The rules in place in the event of a draw say that the replay is to be at a neutral venue.

In fairness Orangeman our club checked with the county board and there are no rules for this circumstance.  I can see why the game would be at a neutral venue but as Radda has quite rightly pointed out why Gortin.  Give that there are numerous pitches of vastly superior quality to Gortins (Loughmacrory would spring to mind immediately) why is it being played there.  Could it be that such a pitch may suit Aghyarn better and they may have more influence than Kildress in the county board.  Not that 'm into conspiracy theories or anything ;-)

loughshore lad

Maybe Gortin is the only pitch they can get to host the game?

With all the rain some clubs may be holding their pitch back?

Rocky Mc Guigan

I reckon they will be trying to hold back the flood waters from Gortin for next weekend and will be amazed if it's playable.

Reserve county final today.
And there's a report on Teamtalk and the Tyrone Herald and I presume the Tyrone Times. Is that OK or shall we book the open top bus?  :P

...Congratulations by the way.
