Now he's sacked Chris Krebs, the admin cybersecurity  official who said last week that the election was secure and there was no evidence of widespread fraud.

I'm sure being sacked by Trump for standing up to him will not be an obstacle in the IT industry.

Don Sr. is obviously extremely charismatic (if he doesn't repel you, that is).  Look at the faces at the front of his rallies--they think he's a rock star.  He's managed to get people out to vote, many of whom would not have bothered.

The Reps clearly have people who would like to harness this in their favor (including Don Jr.), but nobody has what Don Sr. has, as far as I can see.
If he were a rock star, Gary Glitter comes to mind.

The New York City schools, which had reopened in late September for blended learning (some days in school, some at home) are closing tomorrow again. The city hit 3% positivity rate for covid tests (averaged over 7 days). All students will now be learning remotely.

The schools themselves have not been a major source of transmission, kids and teachers are tested regularly and the rate is about 0.2%. Closing the schools will impact those parents who can't work from home and I suspect that for many poorer families are also not doing as well with remote learning.

Has the positivity ratio in the 6 counties gone below 10% in the last month?

Snake newsom caught nicely having a big night out at one of the most expensive restaurants around .
Twice the allotted amount of guests including top ca health officials and top cma lobbyists not a mask in sight ,  this guy is such a douche he should be dumped out on his ear . Add to Nancy no mask and Diane Feinstein caught not wearing a mask before boarding a flight after adopting a bill in the senate that wearing a mask on a plane was mandatory you couldn't make up the hypocrisy . also no acceptance that the Biden celebration is causing a huge spike in ca now .

That IS very poor from Newsome. No excuse. You can't lead this kind of fight and not practice what you preach.

What do you think, Gmac, about Trump and his lawyers instigating and celebrating the attempted theft of the vote of the people of Detroit last night?

i don't know anything about it but trump has lost and should take his defeat like a man
On another note why are the people of Detroit voting dems in all the time  ? the city is a complete mess from its heyday in the 40s and 50s

I guess they like what the GOP is offering even less than what the Dems are.

Looks like the racist coup attempt in Michigan hasn't made it into the conservative media bubble.

Apparently after agreeing to sign off on the results due to the backlash, the two GOPers then came out yesterday and said they take back their agreement!

One thing I don't get in all this, with Trump/Giuliani/Bannon's laughable campaign to have the courts throw out the vote in places like PA and Nevada, is what exactly do they think the best outcome is going to be in all of this?

Let's say they succeeded (they won't, for various reasons), and Trump somehow managed to invalidate the vote or delay certification in enough states to have their GOP legislatures appoint sets of Trump electors to allow him to "win", what kind of state would be country be in then?

Does Trump want to be president of a country on the brink of civil war? What exactly is it that he could accomplish in a situation where he blatantly, aided and abetted by the GOP, literally stole an election, just so he, Donald J. Trump, wouldn't have to suffer the embarrassment on being a one-term, "loser" president?

Would the US survive as an intact country for him to govern?

Right now he IS president and he is not even governing or showing the slightest interest in leadership as the COVID pandemic spirals out of control. He seems much less interested in the work of the presidency than he is in holding the position for reasons of vanity and prestige. What would he be like as president of a country where he engineered the theft of the election?

He is already going down as a historically poor president. He seems to lack any self-awareness that he is shredding his reputation, both as a president and a person, even further.

.

They said all that about GW Bush in 2000. And he lasted 8 years.
