As I said above, Clayton County to save the day, Biden is marching through Georgia.

In Georgia, Biden increased his lead to 1,096 over Trump after another batch of ballots came in from Clayton County, a deep blue county just south of Atlanta.

The military ballots might lean Trump, but hopefully the overseas ones will not.
If at first you don't succeed, then goto Plan B

A careful analysis of the Georgia mail-in ballots left to be counted  on Wed morn GMT,  showed Biden had a sure one way, one lane blacktop ride to pip Trump just before the line. That all night CNN guy did such a job taking each county apart, predicting outcomes and repeating those predictions every 15 minutes for the last 72 hours.. What else does that guy do in life? I think he goes back to his basement, he only exists for the election count and awaits  the call for the next election.

John King? He's amazing at what he does.
If Georgia does indeed go blue as predicted, Stacey Abrams will be the reason.

So what's the likely time frame for the next state to be called? Is there an anticipated time when they think Biden will be confirmed?
What happens in regards to the legal challenges? Is that likely to drag out the confirmation or will he be confirmed as President elect anyway?

*Obviously if the voting counting continues to go Biden's way.

Will Biden, if he wins, be able to do any thing as the senate will be Republican.

Black voters have saved America from its white asses

Without the people who stood in line for hours on end in Milwaukee, Detroit, Philadelphia and Atlanta, America would be waking up to a rotten dawn of at least four more years of fascism and likely many more

Instead, it wakes up to weeks and months of a defeated fascist desperately trying to stay in power like Lukashenko

But he won't, he's gone, he's out, he's finished, he's a loser

He won't be able to do much that would excite those furthest to the left in his party. But that might not worry him unduly. Plus, the senate isn't Republican yet. They need to win one of the run off seats in January.

Just reading an article about her. Stacey Abrams has helped register over 800K voters in Georgia over the past number of years. Wow.

Dems could easily win both of them, they'll be highly energised after a huge breakthrough victory in the presidential election

January 5th is the date

Republicans are likely to descend into serious infighting as the fascist regime nears its end

The two Republican candidates are particularly odious pieces of shit

What's the story with those run offs, how do they work?

Straight head to head elections.

Kind of similar to French presidential election. All runners bar the top two are eliminated. Everyone votes again on those two. One of them is then sure to hit 50%

If someone registered 800,000 people to vote in 1 State you'd have to wonder just how many people in the US aren't registered??

It will be frustrating for sure. The endless filling of court vacancies will come to an abrupt halt in January (after a serious lame-duck session rush). The GOP will suddenly rediscover their passionate and deeply held "concern" for deficits and spending and balancing the budget.

However, IF Biden does win, the most important and over-riding issue will be that one of the worst presidents in history and one of the most corrosive and destructive influences on US society will be rejected and booted (or maybe dragged) out of the White House. He'll still hold rallies for a while, start a TV channel, and snipe and whine from the sidelines, but his actual power will be gone (and good luck to him dealing with Letitia James! ;D). Normal gridlock and inertia on the legislative and judicial front, while quietly working to undo Trump's perversion of the numerous federal agencies, both in mission and capability, will do for a few years.

Besides, dealing with COVID and overseeing the vaccines will be the primary objective for Biden for the next year or so.
