And just to further illustrate the intellectual bankruptcy of Trump's position (redundant, I know!), here is some recent data from Pew on illegal immigrants, broken down by state.

http://www.pewhispanic.org/interactives/unauthorized-immigrants/

The average proportion of K-12 students nationally who are the children of illegals is 7.3%. By state, it ranges from just about zero in Montana and Vermont to 13.4% in Texas and 17.6% in Nevada. Figures like that should be of some important for states and towns and school districts, one would imagine, especially when that overall figure for somewhere like Texas is very likely subject to within-state regional variation, with some areas much higher. Yet here are the likes of whitey advocating that the census be intentionally politicized and illegals intimidated into not participating, with the result that these people are undercounted.

You can get into all of the other data that is collected and make similar inferences as to what the effects might be on public policy.

There's 11-12 M people here illegally...    give them legal status (exclude and deport criminals)

Problem solved!

In fairness, it is well known that he is a germaphobe and does not like to shake hands, so maybe he was a wee bit flustered.

Oraisteach

Not only does he fear Germans, he seems to dislike quite a few other nationalities as well!

No he's not......didn't it say in the Steele Dossier that Russian hookers were pissing down on top of him?

Steele Dossier text:
"Trump's conduct in Moscow included hiring the Presidential suite of the Ritz Carlton Hotel where he knew President and Mrs Obama had stayed on one of their official trips to Russia, and defiling the bed where they had slept by employing a number of prostitutes to perform a Golden Showers show in front of him. The hotel was know to be under FSB control with microphones and concealed cameras in all the main rooms to record anything they wanted to."

So with a bit of a nerd stats background, there are a number of significant problems with the US Census- but this one (2020) is going to be a 'mare...

there is a constitutionally mandated census every 10 years - with 7 mandated questions on every household - this is used to apportion the 435 members of the House of Representatives over the 50 states proportionally to population.

There's also an American Community Survey- again legally mandated that underpins government government programs, this one is 60 questions and is the major factor behind geographic data for federal, state and municipality resource planning.

This census is the first to have a cost mandate, initially it had to cost less than the 2010 census, but then surprisingly that budget was reduced again. Earlier this year John Thompson resigned, he was the Census Bureau director and the role has not been filled.

There are a number of known issues with any census, and the economic science here is around the "undercount" which means that atypical folks respond disproportionally less to the census than the middle of the road seventy odd percent (based on jurisdiction). Thats where you have to spend the money to go after getting a more accurate picture of that 20 percent of the population. Statistically sampling is a typical approach (as well as a huge advertising effort), but thats been ruled out by the supreme court in the US, surprisingly ( no not really) it is now a black and white issue according to the Republican and Democratic parties in the US.

Thompson has resigned on the basis that he believed he had to register his refusal to compromise the count in order to support partisan goals.

Doesn't seem a great plan that given the technology and reach to have the most accurate numbers in the history of the United States, that partisan idiots (aka politicians) prefer a fungible nonsense approach...

Yeah - but that doesn't say they "were pissing down on top of him"
