Why GAA is better than soccer/rugby reason 398

We would never ever ever ever dream of calling our most prized asset after an insurance company.

They are about cost.  We are about values.

;D  Comedy Gold right there!

Are the Davin Stand tickets upper tier or lower tier?
Davin Upper deck. Is that any better than Cussack Lower?

try this Roger. If you're in rows A to F i'd say the view wouldn't be great. I was in E in the lower hogan for the france match, may as well have been in the pub.

Not so sure about the name change myself, but then again if they're making money out of it, then work away...it's always gonna be called the Lansdowne to everyone else anyway just as Yusuf Islam is always gonna be Cat Stevens, it just doesnt sound right.

Cheers Passedit.  I got an extra couple for Hogan Upper in 728 so I think I'll try that.  Handier to Jury's too.

Are there any plans to finish the stadium at the terraced end?

The stadium is finished. The terrace was part of the plan.
Anyway, long story short... is a phrase whose origins are complicated and rambling.

Is that it final or will there be a new development phase at some time in the future to complete it?

thejuice

no thats it, tradition won out over aesthetics in that case.
It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016

You're joking?  Oh well, 28th Feb is likely to be the last time I'll be in it but it seems you boys are missing an opportunity there.

Opportunity  for what?

Would you not be attempted back for a GAA match. You'd be more than welcome. Who knows, you might enjoy it.

Bogball XV

Davin lower is terrible for rugby, you'd be as well off at home imo - upper stand tickets are the best certainly for rugby (but probably for all sports) as you can see how patterns and tactics etc are developed - pitchside for rugby is pretty pointless as you can't see anything anyway - all them big lads lying on the ball etc.

To complete it properly and have an all-seated modern stadium.  Maybe some terracing is a preferred option by some spectators in GAA but surely the way the stadium has been left is totally out of sync with the rest of it. A development phase 5 could include terracing and an upper tier of seats to finish the 'bowl' design that the Hogan, Cussak and Davin stands have formed. No?
