I see Lucas got booked for something that Rooney normally gets a penalty for, go figure...

don't get it , it looked a clear pen to me

It's a trick most forwards use, they antcipate contact and before the contact happens they are on their way down, Rooney is a master at it, it is a form of simulation so the ref should probably be commended.

Rooney's pens are normally clear dives, that 1 was a clear pen. bit of a difference!

Now in fairness the penalty is nearlys given but technically he dived as he went down before contact so the ref was right. He should have stayed on his feet...

Seem to be better organised today. Masch was badly missed the last few games. Degen not offering much on the right. Could see Maxi get a run out early in this second half.

Archie Mitchell

Lucas definately when down before contact was made. If he had of stayed on his feet a few more seconds, he would have been taken down and got the penalty.

Liverpool started off poor but have grown into the game. Stoke are a limited enough side especially now Delap is off. Could become a more open game in 2nd half if Fuller comes on for Stoke and Maxi and Aqualani comes on for Liverpool.

Actually haven't played that badly given the players missing but not exactly creating much either unsurprisingly. Have controlled the game for the most part though. Dreadful by the ref for the penalty. Clear pen and then he books Lucas to compound his ineptness.

Should the ref have given a penalty in your opinion?

Yes or no

I take all back about the Greek! Now they got to keep going forward. Rafa will probably put Aquilani on now and take off a striker.

Minder

Sorensen shit his togs for the goal. I think he closed his eyes.

for consistency yes but not awarding it was technically the right thing.

QuoteMaybe we'll try and out-Stoke them. Stoke will look at that lineup and think they have a good chance to attack and control this game. Liverpool will try and keep it tight, and hit them with a set piece from a corner or free kick. What betting the Greek or Skrtel to score?

Good call AZ..

GalwayBayBoy

Yet another late goal conceded. Again from a set-piece. How many is that this season? Nobody on the post again.

Archie Mitchell

Real kick in the stones there for Rafa. Frantic 5 minutes of injury time now.

Carmen Stateside

Lucky to hold on now! Again can't close out the game! Going on the drink!
