I imagine he has as long as he wants until the team starts steadily regressing under him. Right now it's still progessing so it would be a bit silly to ditch him now and start all over.

the 50million would be 25 for him signing and the rest would be an estimate of wages bonuses etc over the 5 year contract

Aye right I get ye now, still a bit pricey in my opinion, anything around 18-20 mil would be decent enough business but again I don't know where this money is coming from (maybe the Keane money) but I hope to god it doesn't mean Xabi leaving.
