He's not shocking but he's not a great keeper either tbh.

He I a second string keeper who has had 11 clean sheets out of 27 games. Nearly all of his games are behind the 2nd choice defence so he doesn't have the protection that Ali would have. He is a very strong 2nd keeper and would benefit from having the main defence in front of him.

From an Irish perspective I'd like to see him move on and get a lot more game time.

To be a capable back-up in a top level squad.

Which he is.

Not everyone can be Man City or Chelsea and have multiple highly expensive players in each position.

Think Gomez has been very good this season, after a few meh seasons. But he is 4th choice CB and bar city no other team has a better 4th choice CB than him. Getting closer to that elusive goal as well!
