There won't be a replay, nor should there, as where would it end if you opened up THAT Pandora's box? It's part of sport that sometimes teams get fucked. But they need to sort it out so such blatant, farcical, system failures don't happen again and at least limit the damage. Imagine that happening in a CL or WC Final? Or last day of the season and someone getting relegated or losing a title race?

It happened in a World cup final twice!! England Germany 66 and another English referee didn't send a player off after receiving two yellow cards ffs!!

Mistakes happen all the time, move on and get on with it! Moany cnuts  ;D
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

The point that some seem to deliberately miss is VAR was introduced to improve accuracy etc and so we don't have the controversial moments anymore, as it will be "technology" deciding, not quite.
Let no-one say the best hurlers belong to the past. They are with us now, and better yet to come

Flopp actually asked for a replay. In the name of God he has no f**king shame.

He did qualify that by also saying that a replay won't happen because of the obvious fact that the floodgates would then be opened.

Quote from: Armamike on October 04, 2023, 11:55:36 AMUnbelievable all of this.  The only one who comes out with any degree of competence is 'Olly' who was obviously watching the match, unlike the VAR and his sidekick.

This isn't one of those suck it up or move on mistakes.  Liverpool would be perfectly entitled to demand a replay imo (queue lots of whatabboutery and victim calling). Maybe that would be enough to shake things up a bit and bring in changes that will benefit ALL teams, not just Liverpool.

There's not a sporting association on this earth would award a replay in these circumstances.

You know why? Because they'd then have to allow and review similar objections from any aggrieved teams going forward. And then they'd have to decide on an outcome.

So instead of results being occasionally influenced by the actions of officials, they'd be determined by the actions of administrators and lawyers (and deeper pockets).

It's not solving a problem, when the outcome creates a bigger problem.

Roll forward 7 months in this "replay land". Arsenal, for talks sake, need a win for the title, are 2-0 down in the dying throes of injury time and a consolation goal is ruled out incorrectly.

Replay?

Aye. Sounds like great craic that.

Is there some kind of point to this post?

RedHand88

He didn't ask for a replay ffs. Go and watch the video instead of jumping onto a message board after reading a click bait headline.
He said for him as a football person the only outcome is a replay, but that he knows it would never happen and then outlines the reasons why it wouldn't happen. Namely that everyone would want it etc.
Now what the media do is pounce on this to fill tomorrows inches because they know idiots with the attention span of a goldfish will lap it up without looking at the whole conversation. "ZOMGGG KLOPP DEMANDS REPLAY!! Who does he think he is?!"

There won't be a replay. My point was that Liverpool would be entitled to push for one, imo.  I don't believe Liverpool would ask for it anyway or expect that it would be awarded.   But if nothing else by keeping it in the headlines it keeps the pressure on the Pgmol to make real changes to what they do, rather than  pay lip service, which is what they have been doing, and getting away with, over the past couple of years.  We're not talking about understandable mistakes in the heat of the moment. All supporters should be agreeable on that.
That's just, like your opinion man.

And while you're at it scrap the red cards too  ;D
