Might be for this stone roses concert in belfast on wed night. My music interests are only traditional and folk music.

Will I anyway enjoy this concert??????? Wouldn't mind getting pished in belfast for 2 nights.
There'd be something wrong with you if you didn't!

The bassline for I Wanna be Adored was my highlight. Great way to start a gig!!

Awesome gig - Great atmosphere and band played brilliantly - Not sure what concert your man in the Belfast Telegraph was at, as he gave it 3 stars out of 5 - Went with fairly low expectations and it was one of the best gigs I've ever been too

Taking the piss a bit. When they got back together there was talk of new music. Didn't think Phoenix Park gig was that great. Shamelessly cashing in now. Can't see there being as much demand this time round.

Heading along tomorrow. Not a regular concert goer by any stretch and never attended a gig at Marlay Park so looking for a steer on how to approach tomorrow. I know there was a push by locals to have it as an alcohol free gig which was resisted, drink available inside. I'm meeting a couple of lads coming from Belfast and we'd like to have a couple of beers beforehand - any pubs locally that wouldn't be to mobbed? Or what's the best approach. I've literally no clue and no plans made. The lads will be arriving around 4pm (doors 5.30pm) and I'll be making my way from the City Centre, think there's a shuttle bus from Georges Quay.

all help appreciated. Am usually good at organising but up to my neck all the last few weeks.

There's a few pubs near Marlay, none that would be too exciting but if you just want a few pints then The Eden House,The Ballinteer House and The Coach House are all within walking distance of the Park.
When you think you're fucked you're only about 40% fucked.

Jeepers Creepers

Seanie, even if the Q for the shuttle bus is a mile long buy a ticket anyway as it includes return. This will make sure you get back into the city centre afte the gig. This happend to us the last time, got a ticket and couldnt be bother waiting in the Shuttle Q so just got the ordinary Dublin bus from O' C st to Ballinteer (outside burger king?)and used our shuttle bus ticket to get back into the city centre after the gig.

Simplest way imo is to take Bus or Luas to Dundrum stop and walk to Marlay Park. A  good 30  minute walk or so to the park but no queuing etc for this shuttle bus malarkey.

Place around park not really great for pubs thphwy. Wouldn't bother. Some ok  pubs in Dundrum itself.

Thanks for the advice lads. I got my return ticket online for the shuttle bus but it says something about getting a wrist bank before you get on the bus to the gig? If it's mayhem on the way out I'll just get the Luas as suggested but I'm going early so it mightn't be too bad.
