This should have been an interesting thread about population changes in the census. Instead it has been derailing by someone arguing that the British had effectively exterminated the Irish language and that pseudo equality considerations should be invoked to finish the job. Don't indulge this kind of derailing.

Re. Laois having the highest population growth - is it a case that Laois is the most attractive county for immigrants or are Laois men the most prolific ? I'd like to think it is the latter.
