He'll be on the cancelled thread soon

Jarlath was clear he invoked the newly launched Game Changer initiative when persecuting RG. The cornerstones of Game Changer include

● Encourage men and boys to engage in active allyship to eradicate gender-based violence in our society

● Support the challenging and disclosure of abusive behaviours

But here's the kicker, you go throwing it around like a legend and get it wrong you may also have repercussions and consequences

Hate to say it but I think Jarlath overstepped and isn't in an unimpeacable position, stepping aside while this case plays out seems balanced and reasonable

There are a couple of things at play, as it's never black & white.

1) I've no doubt that Jarlath Burns wrote that email to Naas with the best intentions and in good faith that he was fully behind the Game Changer Initiative.
2) I've no doubt he entirely regrets hitting send and has done shortly after doing so. I know he doubled down on it on the LLS but, for me, his face painted a different picture.
3) You'd imagine someone in that position couldn't/wouldn't be able to send unvetted communications, especially on such a sensitive issue. I'd have thought at that level there's a meeting held and legal representatives are inputting.

Either way, it's a total mess.
And strangely, I find myself on both teams. No club should touch Gallagher but it's not the President's place to say that.

ONeill

That's an interesting capitalisation of president at the end there. Some would argue it's accurate.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

Some would be right.
It's a direct translation of his correct title, an tUachtarán, which does take a capital.

It was people behind the scenes at Naas approached Burns about their concerns about Gallagher being involved. He probaly felt he had to something when approached.

There are times that your personal view should just be that..

There is no benefit, I've no idea on the facts and I'd say Burns knows as much as the next on it.

Don't gamble, he'd been doing so well, a fairly reasonable post DIE but unless we know for sure in these things then give it a wide berth

I get that, and I'm sympathetic in many respects to his position.
Still, it should have been stage managed better.

It's hardly persecution
