I read today it was the same Ref that denied Pedro Mendes goal that was 20 foot over the line for Spurs v United at Old Trafford a few years ago.

Fergie must give great head thats all I can say.

Yep and same linesman that failed to spot Didier Drogbas offside goal at the same venue in April, can't be arsed looking for a youtube clip though.

And Macheda's handball goal in that same game against the eventual double winners.

Macheda handball that made the scoreline 2-1 v Drogbas offside goal that won the game hmm.

and not forgetting the winning goal in Stamford bridge v United though... i won't express my dissatisfaction because United should get the rub of the green over Chelsea this year  ;)

Huh? So cancel both goals out, and Chelsea still won 1-0 then. Hence.

And people say that Chelsea fans should get over the Overbo game (I am not by the way).

well the goal stood & 2-0 is a lot harder to come back from.

Overbo game also disappoints me! IMO united would have won another European cup if it didn't happen :-\

That's right. Barcé who struggled to score in 180 minutes against Chelsea went on to out class United over 90 in the final. Forgot about that.

Chelsea tried to copy United tactics v Barca the previous year.

I used to find it amusing that before that goal the English media were going with the "he is shit until he scores against an English team".
"When it's too tough for them, it's just right for us"

Just seen this goal. Why didn't Clattenburg tell Ferdinand to f**k away off when he was talking to the linesman! Can't blame Nani, Gomes should have kept the ball secure until everyone was clear. Costly mistake.

exactly. mainly because he plays from Man U. The Spurs players, 3 or 4 of them, were fucked off

thats what i said aswell. to be fair to the ref he prob couldnt have seen the handball at the time, but between him and the linesman they made a balls of sorting it out.

Gomes made a balls of it.  As everyone is keen to say, he 'didn't play to the whistle'.  He had the ball and rolled it a few feet in front of him, what did he want Nani to do?  Gomes obviously didn't think he was given a free kick anyway, as he was a good 10 or more yards away from where the 'incident' happened when he sat the ball down to kick it out.

theres no doubt that gomes made a mess of it, and should have played to the whistle, but why was there no whistle???
he clearly , deliberatly handled the ball. its should have been a yellow card for nani and a free kick to spurs.
even if the ref was unsighted, the lineman surely seen it and they should have corrected the mistake when they consulted with each other. maybe having ferdinand in thier ear the whole time affected this but  :-\
