No wonder he didn't win if he was lugging all that around. Would've needed to be a stone well in!!  :D :D

Anyone got any thoughts on the weekend action? I reckon Kauto Star can be taken on this weekend for a number of reasons - Nicholls horses needing the run, heavy ground, ran badly at Haydock last year, 9yo French bred so not likely to be at his best for much longer. For me, Notre Pere is the only one to beat him but even he has a stone to find. 9/4 is on the skinny side and I'm hoping that people will back Kauto Star in their droves out of blind loyalty on Saturday. Notre Pere could drift out to a more backable price if this happens. If they get the rain in England that we had this morning then NP has a right good chance.

The hurdle race at Ascot looks a trappy enough contest to work out. I won't back one on the day but I've backed Karabak antepost for the World Hurdle. With the exception of Big Bucks this is a weak division especially with Punchestowns going chasing and Kasbah Bliss staying on the flat. Karabak shaped like a three miler at Cheltenham last year and he could be the potential improver among the stayers.

Only 2ml of rain overnight at Haydock, might have to reassess my thoughts on the Betfair Chase.

Forecast for tonight is supposedly quite bad though.

Sports Line declared for Navan on Sunday after Thurles was rained out yesterday.
