Hes right but, who can replace Ronaldo in fairness?
No doubt the 80 million is nice buisness but United will not be as strong next year without him. Ribery is no replacement for him thats for sure.
Not true.  If United buy say 2 world class players for the middle of the field they will be a stronger team imo.
Ronaldo might be the best in the world but you're better with 2 world standard players than 1 no matter how good he is.

Just curious as to what two players you have in mind? Im thinking there are very few if any players out there that are either good enough or realistically attainable...

yeah who?

Oh my main soccer experience and knowledge is based on various fifa games, which I kick ass at btw, but if United get in someone like Ribbery and one or two others of a similar standard then they will be a better team.
As the champions league final showed there's no point having world standard forward players, even when one is the best in the world, when you've got a very limited midfield who couldnt win the ball.

I'll put it this way...United would be better with two world standard players (say ribery and someone of similar quality) than they would be playing Ronaldo and Park (for example).

No matter who replaces Ronaldo, you can only play 11 men on the park.
The replacement has to produce the goods in tight games against lesser opposition or Utd could become another liverpool :-\

Ribery and who pints? Messi is the only player better than Ronaldo on his day and they aint getting him.

they dont need to get messi, I dont know who united are after nor am I that bothered but I'm making the point that 2 or 3 world class players is better than 1 even if he is the best in the world and the money will allow united to bring those players in and keep tevez.

time ticking away

They should offer Arsenal £30-35 million for Fabregas

Now that the ladyboy has gone, Tevez wants to move on to bigger and better things, Vidic looking for a move as his missus doesent like the pissing rain in Manchester, have Man Utd turned into a selling club ? Discuss

bite, bite, bite.

UTD seem to sell world class players for incredible amounts who then enter a world of oblivian. Although I hate UTD and Fergusan, he seems to be always selling players "we can't do without" and then "does without them"

What do people make of Valencia? Haven't seen a lot of him to be honest. Obviously he's no Ronaldo but is he in the bracket of say a Park or does he have more ability? (Not undermining Park but he is limited at the highest level) Have to say I'm a wee bit underwhelmed by the possibility.

Hopefully Tevez will start and given Hargreaves won't play before Christmas, we need someone in the centre of midfield. £80 may not stretch as far as you'd think and that'a ssuming Fergie gets to spend the money rather than it being used to fund the Yank's debt.

Has Fabregas made noises about wanting to leave Arsenal? Would be brilliant to get him.

True thats why I can't decide how to feel about this transfer. Ronaldo wins or did wn utd so many points even when he was playing shite because he has the ability to score out of nothing.

I'm going to hold judgement until i see who whiskey bake signs and how they settle in

In my learned opinion United play at too high a tempo for Fibreglass to fit in.

I'd be fairly worried that its more than likely that United will drop more points against the teams in the bottom half of the table than they have over the past 3 years. That said, I'd be very hopeful that they'll take more than 5 points off the other teams in the top 4 next season.

Yeah I'd definitely say that will be the case. Utd got 58 points out of 60 against the bottom which is unbelieveable
