Would that be roughly the same panel of Meath players the CO'R had?

When you strip it back in a week or so, it's been a good year for Meath - to where they had come from. Everything is relative.

They made good progress this year after a few very poor years so it's positive. Today, clearly, is a learning experience.

The age profile is decent and get  few more players on board after the club championship and Brennan will be raring to go in Div. 2 in early '26.

Hard to believe that the county season is nearly over.

DnG decent outfit for sure but don't know why they are being so lauded.

Beat 3 x Div 2 teams in Louth, Monaghan and Meath to get to the final.

As handy a set of opponents as there has been in a long time.
Maybe you  staying quiet might be a good idea
I would just remind tyroneman that Kerry also beat a div2 team yesterday and with plenty to spare.

Despite how the semis went it's probably been a good year for Tyrone and Meath. Both probably exceeded expectations and *should* improve for it.

Would have thought all county sides have them, a lot of club teams would be wearing them,

Armagh18

Strange old year, but best 2 teams in the country in the final, Meath will take a lot from this year, some improvement from where they were but just a pity they couldn't have kept that competitive today.

Final hard to call but I've a bad feeling Donegal will do it.

Some have them in their jerseys.

Others wear them in a vest.

Quote from: thewobbler on July 13, 2025, 05:28:53 PMMeath love taking the ball into the corners and then  go around in circles until someone has a potshot. I've no idea what the f**k that's all about.

in 10 mins Donegal have kicked more direct ball into McBrearty than Meath have kicked into their full forwards.

Football has changed lads.

Donegal channeled fhem very effectively. At one point Donegal sat back very deliberately and conceded a kick out with all the men channeled back into centre core of defence.

Tactical Annihilation

Easy money again

Meath miles off it as expected but they will learn from it whether they can close that gap is doubtful in 12 months.

Kerry beat a team that played in Div 1 this year, so put the bolloxology to one side.

They also beat the AI champions.

What did I say that was incorrect?

DnG are decent.

They played x3 D2 teams in knock out stages to get to a final.

That's a handy run.

Would they have beaten Armagh/Dublin/Galway/Tyrone... yeh maybe ....like I say they are decent...but then again maybe not..... but facts are facts ...they had an easier run than anyone else

If O'Rourke had stayed, Menton wouldn't have been in the squad, plus a few others didn't want his term extended so probably wouldn't have played this year either. We probably wouldn't have beaten Offaly and be no where near an All Ireland semi final.
It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016

On the day, O Rourke wouldn't have done any worse

DaleCooper

ORourke may have hinted to them to wreck Murphy early on, there was one very nice clattering from a Meath fellow but overall Donegal brought the BITE

Cork v Mayo in 1993 (20pts)
5-15 v 0-10

😆

The best laugh of that was that useless Mayo team beat Roscommon 1-05 to 0-07 in the Connacht Final.
