Quote from: Sportacus on May 17, 2025, 07:16:19 PMMost of our underage teams get drubbed every year. Cargin got drubbed in the Ulster Club. How would the county team be anything other than near the bottom.

Yeah but the two teams that have easily beaten us in the last two games will be playing Div 3 next year

It's not Tyrone & Kerry
Let no-one say the best hurlers belong to the past. They are with us now, and better yet to come

Any cargin players today ?
Their boycott doesn't help

For me it looks like the county is boycotting Cargin! Creggan also!
If you were a betting person who would you put your money on a creggan&cargin select v rest of Antrim?
I know were my money would be😜

Hell hath frozen over, for I'm wholeheartedly in agreement with a Cargin man!

Not one player from either club has refused a call-up. The calls never came. But go ahead BelfastGAAman, tell us what you know?

Cargin best team by a mile over last 10 years
Derry men coaching them all that time would wan all players at their training not county training
Falls Road saying  Lagan bubble

Antrim's woeful decline under McEntee is nothing to do with Cargin or an imaginary boycott the players that were called up went each year and gave their best to then not be played sometimes getting no game time at all also.
McEntee would rather play Glenravel Ballymena,Rossa and the Ulster select players even had the farce of Oran Downey being called up to the panel couple years ago he wasn't even good enough to make his original club team in Derry,Sometimes big and athletic isn't all that's needed for county football in my opinion Niall Burns is one of the best footballers in the county but rarely starts as he's smaller! Get a manager in who will play the best players not what height you are or what you can bench press or what the GPS data is telling you.

A bit harsh on Glenravel, Ballymena and Rossa there. McEntee can only select who makes themselves available.

I just don't think he's the man to this team where they need to go.

There are men from intermediate and junior clubs in Armagh who have an AI medal in their back pocket. From both 2002 and 2024.

And that proves my point although these 3 teams are all senior now.

Just not high level players I get what people are saying about your Armagh and Kerry players at junior level on all Ireland teams ,Clifford's play intermediate and previously junior football for Fossa is there anyone in the Antrim div 2 or 3 or in junior championship would cut it at county football albeit at now a very low standard in div 4 I'd still say no chance

Milltown Row2

So basically, the standard of those players in lesser leagues or league positions of div 1 are shite?
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

Hectic

Would many of the current Creggan squad even get into a Cargin/Creggan select?

A few big wins in the league, some probably against teams missing county players, don't suddenly make them world beaters.

Cargin plenty of know how but a lot of their players have been there and done it at county and are probably well past playing at that level now.

Their boycott doesn't help

Maybe look closer to home and try and develop your own club before wrongly laying blame at the most successful club for the past decade.

Moron.
