The UK's highest court has ruled that the definition of a "woman" in equality legislation refers to someone who is born biologically female, in a blow to campaigners for the rights of transgender people. The Supreme Court found in a unanimous decision that the meaning of "woman" in anti-discrimination law did not extend to a trans woman with a gender recognition certificate.
Any sane person would have always known this!

So what  is the wider opinion of Graham and JK Rowling  since this  UK court ruling?

Gabriel_Hurl

Linehan - no change - he's still an overly obsessesed person who has ruined his professional career and family life.

By stating the obvious.

Gabriel_Hurl

If you think that's the reason he's ruined his career - more power to you.

Can you elaborate on that?

Linehan and Rowling  seemed to have got a lot of  abuse over their stance.

Are they due  apologies now then?

All that Graham Linehan & J K Rowling ever tried to do was protect the safe spaces that women and young girls need and deserve. While some transgender people may genuinely believe they are the opposite gender from which they were born, anyone who is anatomically male should not be allowed in to those spaces.
Never underestimate the power of complaining

I have trans students every semester/every other semester. They are some of the most vulnerable human beings I've ever seen in person. Am I supposed to believe the former males have transformed into females for the purpose of harassing or raping women in the women's' toilets?

It's f**king nonsense.

No but some sexual predators took advantage of the law put a dress on said they were a woman, that is the crux of why the new ruling was needed. Sad but these f**kers ruined it for true trans as did sad cheating men looking a win in a woman's sport.
