Jesus Joe talked some crap this week. Was making no sense. Unless it's boxing and GAA is it no good then?

He has actually called for boxing to be banned on previous podcast away back! and talked about the savagery of a Paul McCloskey (Dungiven) fight he attended  :D  albeit I enjoy the podcasts

Weird take from Joe Brolly here.

Some of the best sporting drama I've witnessed.

You'd find if McIlRoy was a hard-line Republican Brolly would have a totally opposite view of the situation.

Tbf I'm sure you could easily find 100 lads on here that also think golf is shite which is pretty much his take.
My wife has little interest in sport other than big ticket items like Wimbledon or the Olympics, but she was enthralled by the golf on Sunday.

Brolly is becoming increasingly irrelevant so he says thran stuff for attention. "There's a black crow, Joe". "Naw hi, that's definitely a white dove".

Mine went to bed early so I ended up watching it but brutally honest, I wasn't rooting for him or anything. More enthralled at the will he/won't he aspect but wouldn't have cared if he won or lost. I'm not a huge golf fan but remember watching Clarke, McDowell, Lowry and Harrington all going for majors and was hitting every shot with them. I'll watch the snooker from the weekend and hit every ball with Mark Allen. Don't know what it is but just never warmed to McIlroy. I assume I watched him at some point and he annoyed me about something daft but just never warmed to him.

Quote from: maldini on April 16, 2025, 10:31:49 PMOne of his many silly arguments in this podcast was why should it matter to anyone McIlroy or any golfer winning a tournament

Then went on to pontificate about Marvin Hagler fights 50 years ago and the LA Lakers.
Should those matter to anyone?

Aye, what does the golf the other night matter to us? Then goes on about some boy Jerry West who played basketball in the US, which must be extremely relevant.
'To the extreme I rock a mic like a vandal, light up a stage and wax a chump like a candle.'

tiempo

Joe was clearly brought down to earth at some point from someone in the golfing fraternity therefore he throws shade on an entire global sporting phenomenon as irrelevant, bizzare

The only thing an ego manic like Brolly cares about is that people like us care about what he has to say. If you can identify the half truths among the many blatant lies you're doing well.

Said it god knows how many pages ago. Some lads get seriously triggered by Joe and are the first ones to come here giving off about him. Forget about him if he annoys you that much.  You'll feel much better for it. No one else cares.

It's his hypocritical views that annoys most people.

And the fact he constantly talks over Dion on that podcast don't know how he sticks him.

Don't listen to it!
He'll have no outlet then

I have.

Enjoyed the first few episodes to be fair but don't bother with it now.

Main Street

Joe doth protest too much about his non-interest in golf, about 90 minutes too much.
I enjoy listening to those unique levels of car crash stupidity. By now even Dion's one on one interviews sound intelligent and vastly superior yet curiously missing the entertaining inane lengthy Brolly self-absorbed interventions.

Joe Brolly has a shelf life shorter than bread.
