Would VAR have overruled it considering some of the soft arse penalties that have been given using VAR?

There would have been a few more red cards had VAR been employed

Yeah that would have been interesting. Havertz had Ugarte by the throat then went down after going head to head. Maguire was right - cheating shithouse.

It was good seeing a bit of niggle from the united side.

An Watcher

First game of soccer ivecwatched in a while and the amount if diving/rolling/holding your face is ridiculous.

Why can't this be looked at afterwards.  Even to cut out obvious dives when people haven't been touched.

Look-Up!

VAR and referees get a lot of criticism but the sport of soccer in general is full of cheating moaning two faced wankers. VAR came about from the constant crying of managers and teams but since it's introduction the crying has worsened. Cry about teams diving but then go back to the training ground and teach their players to dive. Cry about game becoming too soft when their players get booked but if the opposition so much as look at their star player funny they cry about players needing more protection. I'd love to see referees go full blown zero tolerance with the constant shithousery in the sport but we all know how that would go. Total anarchy from the sidelines and terraces.

Captain Scarlet

Sure when Var makes the right call they lambast it.

When it's not there they lambast the ref.

They literally haven't got the ability to talk about the game and tactics so it's pure 'controversy'.

them mysterons are always killing me but im grand after a few days.sickenin aul dose all the same.

Puckoon

Thoughts on the keeper? Had a great game, could he be pushing for the number 1 spot?

I think you could see in the first half he was still reeling from the dodgy spurs game. His kicking was all over the place even under no pressure off the deck. The pen save seemed to have rebirthed him into a monster. Could be the bit of fire in him now that he needs to push on and compete with Onana. I see the value in a club having a strong 2nd choice keeper for cup games

Glad to see him redeem himself after the Spurs game but no where near good enough with the feet yet.

Where would you start on that performance  :o

I only seen the first half and Southampton were brilliant, Utd did have chances but had no final touch in the box or calmness to take the right option. Onana was brilliant in goals and Utd could have been 3 nil or more down at HT

I got watch the last 15 minutes though and yeah, they pulled it outta the bag, that lad is some player and has some serious hunger about him, but ya can't keep giving teams those chances as better teams will take them apart.

But 8 points from safety ;D

Something seriously wrong at that club. Player signs bumper new deal and then backs it up with an on field performance. Board must be pulling their hair out.

United are as lucky as fĂșck.

City gift them two goals in the derby after playing them off the park, Arsenal miss enough chances to win 10 games, credit to the reserve keeper for the penalty save all the same and last night they were lucky to be going in at half time at only 1-0 down.
three goals from the 82nd minute to win 3-1.

Defence still an issue as well as Hojlund not offering any real threat whereas Zirkzee did when he appeared.

Anthony missed an absolute sitter too..

There's no consistency with this outfit.

NAG1

JC they are consistently inconsistent that's for sure.

Actually think it shows how much they have been relying on Dalot in the past few games, he is the only threat down that side.

The only positive is that these are the exact games in recent seasons that have just petered out to a tame home defeat. So small mercies and all that.

I'd rather be shite and lucky than good and unlucky :D. Zirkzee has probably earned himself a start the next day now, but they are in bad need of a number 9, wingbacks that can attack and depth in midfield.
