Trossard had a decent season when played on the left 12 goals from 17 starts in league.  Raya definetely helped by how solid arsenal where in front of him.

Milltown Row2

With Klopp gone I'd say that Arsenal will be City's biggest rivals for the next few seasons, hopefully they get the one at least with this generation of players
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

Look-Up!

Might be even 2024 yet

ONeill

Thoughts for the year ahead?

I'm happy with no real changes. I think it's a case of Arteta managing the squad slightly better and needing that small slice of luck.

It's very marginal.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

Was hoping they could attract a high end striker over the summer. Nothing as yet. Rule of thumb is to always improve on your squad otherwise you ll stand still. Arsenal hsvent added proven quality to their squad

Name one, don't think the striker is out there. Or at least one available. They definitely need an attacker that can cover for Saka though and a holding midfielder. Jorginho and Partey can't be the options. Probably will need to sell to achieve this.

Gyorkes (Sporting ST), Williams at RW then you have Havertz/Jesus exclusively up front, Ivan Toney some people would rate.

Need a progressive midfielder and a right winger for depth in my opinion, talk of a loan for Sane which I wouldn't mind

Would the money spent on the Italian lad not have been better invested further up the field given timber will be like a new signing? Now have 4/5 players of high quality that can play at centre half.

Quote from: quit yo jibbajabba on August 12, 2024, 10:19:22 PMThe Calafori (sp) dude?

Looks like  he is going to be a squad player just.

Arteta started last season by tinkering, a shambles that resulted in Partey playing right back 'inverted'
It completely failed and resulted in dropping points that cost them in the end
He'll do the same again with this Italian dude they completely didn't need

He does need to rotate a bit, Saka plays every game, the lad needs the odd break in cup games and the European gimmies

That said they look stacked and should be in the top 2 again, league is there for them if they treat it as a 38 game season with the cups a bonus/unnecessary distraction, league needs to be the big focus

The new CL format is akin to the GAA masters as far as I can tell at a glance, a f**king balls for a competition of that magnitude to be using this format, devised for one reason only, more games more money

I have never watched him play but I would have doubts on Gyorkes - if he was good enough why did no one grab him on the cheap from Coventry. Same doubts with Calafiori who could have been picked up from Basel last season. We need something extra for the front three Nketiah and Nelson aren't strong enough as back up, probably a year too early for any of the academy players.
The Champions League format does not look good on paper hopefully it will generate a bit of excitment when it is up and running.

Getting in early is the only show in town, I feel Arsenal are keeping their powder dry on the striker front, either they'll pick a reasonably priced prospect or blow the bank for an established star, they won't go inbetween and gamble on someone with a big price/massive wage and a question mark on drive/temperament. If neither materialises they'll go with what they've got and try again at a later window

Full credit to Crystal Palace for identifying Adam Wharton at Blackburn, he'll serve them well and they'll make a massive profit on him

On the other hand, massive incompetence from Utd City Liverpool and Everton, all on the doorstep of Blackburn and failed to pick him up, clubs in that region should have an inside track on all the full time academies (and first teams for that matter) in a 50 mile radius, relatively small investment keeping tabs for potential stars at big savings - the alternative, Antony and his likes 🤦♂️

Williams would move the dial but appears to be staying put. Toney and Gyorkes not elite in my opinion. Would have liked Neto but the injury record is horrendous.

Any of you who post here have an Arsenal membership bership and have tried to get tickets under this new ballot system. I'm a silver and there's no doubt that silver membership is being slowly eroded.
