I remember a while back Maria Cahill expressed outrage at Frankie Boyle being invited to the Féile. She then went to show and wrote a column about how enraged she was 😆 Actually it was a great night.. but that aside..
I used to get offended by the Nolan Show and then the penny dropped.. I stopped listening to it.
Simple really..

Haven't listened to the Nolan Show in a lifetime - not out of "offence" but because it's toxic and dangerous and absolute gutter journalism that appeals to idiots. Brollys podcast however can be entertaining at times, and when he talks politics and current affairs, he's excellent. Hence why I listen. That doesn't take away from the fact that he is a nasty, vindictive, abusive, absolutely egomaniacal, hypocrite. I mean who else would produce a podcast episode preaching about the importance of kindness above everything else, followed by a twothree-parter on why he thinks Mickey Harte is a c**t?

Quote from: Snapchap on June 18, 2024, 11:29:22 AMAfter devoting a two part special to Mickey Harte bashing, the Free State Podcast moved onto a new topic today - Brian Mullins. Except it took all of about 15 minutes for it to become another Harte bashing episode, including one instance of Joe (who devoted a podcast recently to the importance of being kind to others) terming Harte a "c*nt". Stay classy Joe.
Unfortunately I also listened this morning. Eulogising about outside manager Mullins and not 5 min later calling Harte a c*unt and saying outside managers don't understand the Derry people.

I'd say that's how Brolly views Harte. He does need to let go as Harte is living rent-free in his head. Still can't understand why you bother to listen to someone you have that opinion of.

Since the advent of his podcast he has free reign to do and say whatever he wants and I'm not sure that has been a good thing for him in terms of popularity. I used to find him entertaining but maybe that was because we only ever heard him speaking about GAA once or twice a week. I'd say he definitely hasn't endeared himself to the public since the Podcast began. Although he sees everything in black & white and I'd actually agree with his opinions on a lot of stuff, its the nasty, personal, vindictive nature of his attacks that would put you off him. It's nearly got to the stage where you feel sorry for Mickey Harte. Nobody likes to have an opinion constantly rammed down their throat, so while I listened to him regularly at the start, I can't say the same anymore.

Main Street

Until listening to these Free State podcasts I hadn't realised just how cheap, bitter and nasty he can be. As long as it was Tyronies I didn't mind so much, the DUP and racists are fair game anytime, but behind the smirky 'don't take me so serious' facade he harbors bitter grudges for years and years. Possibly it irks him no end, the one person who did not applaud him in a room full of worshipers.
Did anyone else nod off while listening to the so called Brian Mullins podcast? (just another 'Mickey Harte is not from Derry' podcast).

Lumping 'Tyronies', as you call them, in with the DUP and racists.. and you call Brolly bitter...

LC

Regarding this weeks Mayo V Derry game it is a win win for Joe.

If Mayo get beat no doubt his Sindo column will be about how they are a team of chokers who will never win anything with no doubt a few personal insults fired at A O'S.

If Derry get beat then Joe will maintain he was right all along about MH, mind you having already called him a c##t I do not know what his next stage of personal insult will be.

Main Street

Should Derry win, Joe will surely put it down to a dressing room rebellion.

Just listened to that podcast. Is getting repetitive alright. He hasn't liked Harte long before he went to Derry and use of C word is not acceptable. Says a lot of truth bout the mess he's made of Derry but we've heard it before. Also is not wrong that many in Tyrone are disgusted with what Hartes done (a lot of folk in Derry not too happy with it either).

Hard believe a full qualified barrister and a so called clever man, would come out with this crap. For what it's worth, he not to popular with the current Derry players.

That's hardly headline news though lol.

Haven't bothered listening to the podcast and doubt I will tbh.

At the end of the day we're all Irishmen watching/playing/coaching/discussing our national game. I don't think calling Harte a c u next tuesday is acceptable at all and I doubt Harte has done anything so terrible as to justify a personal attack like that.

Yeah I did say calling him the 'c' word is unacceptable. You can add Louth as well to list with people disgusted with Harte.
Strange no-one seems too bothered he was very derogatory about Dick Clerkin in the last two podcasts as well.. : )
