This season Premier league stats.

Sanchez
Minutes played 1501   goals scored 7   assists 5

Martial
Minutes played 909   goals scored 7   assists 4

I think you can see why Manchester United should be smart enough to say no to any swap deal and Martial is only 22 with loads of room for improvement while Sanchez may already be past his best at 29.

Jose only cares about now. He'll be long gone before (if ever) Martial becomes a consistent threat.

Swapping Martial for a more "consistent threat" would only make sense right now if the Premier league title was still in reach or if they had a chance of winning the champions league.

United's transfer policy, except for Matic, hasn't made any sense for about 5 years.

In clubs like United you need to be good enough now or you need to get good enough somewhere else. You can't do an apprenticeship in a side struggling to get back to the top easily, as Martial and Rashford are finding out. Jose is short term but you're being blinded by personal dislike if you think there's many managers who wouldn't be operating the same way in that job. Fecking Pep wants Sánchez too and he has as good if not better wingers of a young age than Jose.

And Cap'n, I hope you're not actually suggesting Martial is better than Sánchez?

Plus Martial has a better attitude than Sanchez. Stoke tonight Martial starts, Stoke drew in Old Trafford last season and Stoke apparently have never lost PL away match on a Monday night.

Are you sure about this?

Sánchez might be running down a contract but he never leaves anything on the field. Not sure anyone could say the same about Thierry mark II

Captain Obvious

Some finish by Martial there.

Sánchez has a sort of maniac will to win - this isn't Ben Arfa style petualance. Martial's persona on the field is more cool and passive. I think some Utd fans are seriously overrating how good he's been for them. Jose clearly isn't sold in the same way supporters are and that counts for a lot in this calculation.

He hasn't been labeled sulking Sanchez for nothing.

Two difficult away fixtures for Utd.. they weren't at their fluid best but some saves from the best keeper in the world!

He'll need more help from his defence when at Burnely and Spurs, Spurs possibly hitting the best form at the minute and getting Home wins now also!

The number nine bus will be brought out

Pogba was first class tonight.  8)

Utd rode their luck a few times in the first half tonight at the back. Stephen Ireland had two good chances totally unmarked.

I always take the assist stats with a pinch of salt.
I can think of at least two or three  of Pogbas 'assists' that involved a 5 yard pass and the player when on to smash it in from 25 yards.
I know this applies to all players, but they can be badly skewed at time from 'real asists'
