Possession and shots are a fairly good way of assessing a games flow but when most neutrals watching the game feel one team were much superior that should be a strong indication that you may have viewed things with a degree of bias. Roscommon got a few soft frees themselves.

Taking shots from unsuitable positions will generally result in wides.

And when a team sets up as defensively as Roscommon you sometimes have to give it a go from an angle or distance and hope you get a few or they at least go dead so you don't get caught on counter attacks. Irrespective of the stats it was clear watching the game who were the better team and it certainly wasn't the Roscommon boys but there is no shame in that. Sometimes you come up against a better team but they did fantastically well and I hope they'll be back, albeit playing a different brand of football.

Imagine all these forwards playing in possibly their only time in Croke Park and they spend it mainly as defenders. Shame for 16, 17 and 18 year olds to be forced to play like this. Only a matter of time before the managers of the primary school games played at halftime will have the players all playing behind the ball as well.

Are you being ironic Rossfan? Either Roscommon CBS are poor and needed to play uber defensively or that was their style and they still got beat. I don't want to come across as someone knocking these young footballers as they did their county proud. But they did have a very negative style of play that isn't nice to watch and they were beaten by a much better team.

They were bet out the gate in the League final by Summerhill of Sligo.
Had to go more defensive and won the Championship batin Summerhill.
So it seems their management had to change their style and see where that would take them.

I have never heard as much shite  about a secondary school game , this is what you get when roscommon are involved . Making its importance way bigger than it actually is. Drive YA round the bend they would and gawd love us if they win the nestor cup this year .
