Quote from: marty34 on Today at 01:00:29 PMGreat win for Offaly in the game of the week-end. Some crowd and atmosphere in Nowlan Park.  Great for it to be acknowledged on the anniversary.

As for the game, a super game but Offaly always seemed to have the edged and finished strongly. They have a strong spine and some silky lads up top. A good few different scorers also.  It showed how many players (from the two teams) who were in the minor a few years back - a good majority are back which is good to see.

Good to keep them players on board as I think it's harder to keep them on board after minor level, so, both Offaly and Tipp, have done a good job.  Maybe it's easier when you're in a county panel that's having a bit of success.

Offaly are a county on the rise. Joe Mc Donagh (which always seems to be a good final) should also be a good one between Offaly and Laois.

Jarlath Burn made a great sppech at the presentation. Even told the Offaly captain twice to say Hip Hip Horray for the Tipp team.

Always hated that bullsh*t

Yeah, much prefer to go 'yeeeeoooooooo ya c#=ts yez'  ;)

Resident hurling referee, what did you think of the wee line ball that Screeney touched and walked away from and let his teammate come steaming in and pick it up?

The lad was 13 metres away and IMO Stack should have let it go, but he pulled them back and made them retake it.

So funnily enough I was asked this on Sunday up in Cushendall, I didn't see the game but my interpretation of it is, if a player plays the ball, and another player comes in from 13 meters away that's ok ..

Another way of looking at it is this, if a player taking a sideline ball scoffs it , and it trickles an inch and opposition players and team mates go in to contest the ball is it retaken? No, providing the player that took the sideline doesn't touch it before another player plays it.

We've seen that scenario unfortunately plenty of times as players lol!

Shane Bennett of Waterford did this a few yearrs ago.  In the league (2019) I think. In combination with Jamie Barron.

A cute move.

Someone did it at a penalty also if I can remember in football?

Quote from: bannside on Today at 06:08:54 PMCould club fixtures be pushed back to 6pm?

You'd think so, but they can be a stubborn lot sometimes.

Like last time, games were refixed by the teams themselves, I did a game at 12 last time that came up. the johnnies game had to be played after a county game as it was a home venue, they'd find it difficult to be allowed to go beforehand..

These fixtures are arranged before we know of Antrims fate at intercounty level.

Ya can't blame them for that ;D

I'd never heard of  him , but just seen a news report.  Poor fella.  His deterioration  from his rugby days was  unbelievable.

What a  b******d of a disease.

This man was 5.5 in heels! In rugby league he was up against giants and managed to more than hold his own throughout 17 years of winning the lot, multiple times with that Leeds team. As a smurf myself I loved the way he'd throw himself into the tackles

I don't think that's McEntee's mindset at all.  He'll be thinking let's take out a 'big' team. Sort of mentality that might actually see Antrim win something. I'm old enough to remember Andy had his critics, but he's doing well overall imo.

Those three teams are bigger than us currently and beating them would be an achievement

Cause it was pure balls?

So I'll need a stop watch for when players cross the halfway line, one for sin bins, one for just normal running of time and another for subs injuries and stoppage's...

seems easy enough

Christ imagine the borderline cases in club games.
Be like basketball, outside the zone for a 3 pointer

Most pitches for most of the playing year the lines are missing due to the weather!

What do you suggest? Let Russia occupy anywhere that takes its fancy?

Brits and Americans do it so why not?

Some piece of work. No question he's the worst president in the history of United states of America.

Yet, with the current state of the world, he's a good bet to double down on that. We could be in for a dark next five years.

Yet all the war started after he left office??

Not sure where you've been but the US have been involved directly or indirectly in hundreds of wars for many decades

Living under a rock he's been?  and within the first two years of Trumps administration, Trump launched far more drone and lethal strikes than Obama in his full term.

Whereas Obama merely destabilised the whole middle east and North Africa.

So you still standing by your first post lol?
