There are a lot of potential neutrals in Belfast too. Remember that Armagh v Derry attracted 27,000 there in 2005, albeit at a time when when crowds were much bigger. But even half that would a big crowd for a game involving Derry.

Are you sure there was 27,000 at this?

Was that not a ridiculously sunny day and people dandered in just for the sake of it?

I know that when Derry beat Armagh in 2007 we still talk about the 'faithful fifty' . So there were very few at that one!

Best foreign language film I have ever seen is one called Jeux d'enfants or "Love me if you dare" in English.

It's kind of a messed up love story but very funny and very clever with a great storyline and great acting in it.

Marion Cotillard (Inception) is also another reason to watch it!!

Great player no doubt. Can't say I enjoyed watching him play but I appreciated his ability and that he was probably the best Midfielder in the Premiership for a good length of time.

One thing about him that did annoy me was that there was almost an acceptance that he couldn't tackle and you would hear a commentator laugh "huh, typical Paul Scholes tackle". It was no laughing matter and to be honest it was lucky he didn't break a lot of legs in his time and he most definitely deserved more cards than he got... anyway he was pretty good alright!

As long as it's not in North Derry I'll be happy enough ;)

I know the lad tries and he does have enthusiasm for the game there's no doubting that but he is not cut out for it simple as. He actually started seriously talking about the game going to Extra Time when there were 20 mins left!!

As he did not grow up around the GAA scene his knowledge of players and their backgrounds is extremely poor. I would guarantee that he knows nothing of Club Football or Sigerson football. Unfortunately he just does not have it and the BBC should do a serious trawl for someone who can commentate on a game... what harm could it do??

I reckon Sidebottom could do a bit on match build ups and pitchside reporting but he should not have the mic in front of him for 70 minutes at a time!!
Red faces all round Screen. Good club hurler, played for QUB, cousin of many county players, brother would have been a good juvenile county player and played Fitzgibbon. Growing up in the Glens football knowledge is gonna be weak as we all see it as a far inferior game to hurling. Which it is. But the man knows GAA.

No red faces here! Where I said GAA scene I should have said football scene. He does not know enough about the players in the Ulster Football Cship and I stand by that. Fair enough he may know his hurling . . .  let him commentate on that then!

I am not trying to slag him off although it may come across like that he tries his best and nobody could doubt his enthusiasm. He's just not good at it!

As for your comment about football being an inferior game to Hurling well that's debatable if you're from Munster or Leinster. The way Hurling is played in the Glens of Antrim or indeed anywhere else in Ulster though it most certainly is not!!!

no whatiffery, no complaints, out played and out classed.... its as simple as that.

best team won, end off

Totally agree, though doesn't take away from another successful season & next year the final is in Munich & that place is already written in their history so who know's? i just know united will have a better chance of winning the Cup if the opposition isn't Barcelona  :P

Edwin van der Sar, who retires this summer: "It was one game too many, I think. It's never nice to lose. They had the better chances but we made one or two mistakes and they punish you. We had to score the first goal and we didn't do that. Of course it's not how I wanted my last game to go, but you can't always choose how football goes."

Happy retirement VDS hopefully United can find a suitable replacement.

Who knows??!! I do!!

United won a poor Premiership and the fact that such a poor team got to the Champions League Final . . . well it just shows how lucky a run English teams get in this competition!! As everyone suspected at the start of the season! An average team!!!

I don't know the people defending Giggs though I suspect they're Man U fans...

I'm not at all, couldnt care less. I just despise all those kiss and tell women - they're complete and utter scumbags, and an awful indictment of society that they are happy for the most intimate details of their private lives to be across papers if it earns them money. It seems to be a valid career choice now to try to shag a celebrity and get rich off their back.

Does anyone believe the sun doorstepped her about it? If a paper had the story they'd have kept followig her, got loads of evidence and kept it as quiet as possible until they were about to publish so that an injunction would have less chance of happening. I believe the story that she asked giggs for money, and when he didnt give it to her set him up. Shes a lying **** and shes got another lying **** who makes a living out of being a lying **** for a crowd of lying c***ts to represent her.

Giggs shouldnt have did what he did, and obviously wasnt truthful himself, but compared to her hes on the moral mt everest

Is he balls!! She's a celebrity wannabe it's what she does and it's no secret and he's not a stupid guy he had a fair idea what he was getting himself into. Giggs is a role model to kids, a father and a husband he is on a moral mount everest compared to nobody.

Sky Sources: Van of masked men attacks paparazzi outside Ryan Giggs' home in Greater Manchester.

Feck I thought that was a joke . . . Man Ure supporters! The greatest fans in the world eh?

Nearly as bad as Liverpool fans

we could this all day ;)

I'm well aware of that but I hate all the "we have the best fans in the world" shite that most supporters trot out all the time. I would just like it noted that Man Ure are no better than the rest.

PS. I don't support Liverpool. Not even a big EPL fan.

To be honest the fatal flaw in Norfs moral crusade is that people in general will get it hard to hate Giggs with the same gusto that they would a Terry, Cashley, Rooney or Gerrard.

I highly doubt that he played along with the 'role model' and 'personality of the year' nonsense while he was beefing away behind his wifes back. At least we all knew Terry, Gerrard, Rooney  and Cole were scumbags from the outset but Giggs' situation is much more sinister!!

I think with all his pre-fight  "ugly boy" chat and also his "winner takes all" bet, De Gale reminded me a bit of Floyd Mayweather and i think that was intentional on De Gale's part.

Unfortunately for De Gale while he could imitate some traits of PBF's behaviour outside the ring he wasn't so good at replicating his behaviour inside the ring.

Mayweather once said the following about himself :

"I'm running my mouth a lot and I'm looking for a guy to shut me up. If you don't shut me up I'm going to keep running my mouth. "

De Gale has now found that someone that has shut him up, it will be interesting to see how he acts in the run up to his next fight.

On the subject of boxing films - just ordered Homeboy, Mickey Rourke and Christopher Walken is in it. Think i watched it years and years ago and thought it was a good show at the time but can't really remember it.  Just checked a reviews site and it got some terrible reviews ... i figure it's worth a shout as it was only a couple of quid on play.com.

While i was at it ordered Gladiator and Somebody up there likes me, hadn't ever heard of either of them to be honest but they sound worth a watch.

Gladiator is a great movie I loved it very gritty!

Is there not another issue here for Lance Armstrong. In athletics if a member of a relay team is caught cheating the entire team forfeits their medals. Even if Armstrong is clean as he claims, how can he take much credit for all his victories if so many of his team mates who supported him in these competitions were cheating and using illegal substances? Surely he was getting an unfair advantage over his main opponents.

So . . . let's disqualify the Postal Team from all the TdF's they won. Then see what team's next and have they any drugs cheats, oh they do so let's go to the next . . . and so on and so on.

You would be opening up a serious can of worms there and I doubt there would be any way to put the lid back on!

You have to wonder why all these people are coming out now. Why not do it at the time when a test would have picked up he's a cheat. As benny says all there is now is someone's word against his and there is no proof to be had . . . like I have said numerous times if someone shows me proof then I will believe he's a cheat but I will hold the notion that makes us a civilised society "Innocent until proven guilty"!
