The O'Leary statement said that he accepted Elliott's sincere apology but I'd say his main beef is the fact that he was caught and with the person who leaked it. It was apparently a Gigginstown horse as well that he was caught sitting on top of!

Owners, trainers and racing media will now engage in window dressing PR exercises that best suits their own individual agendas. Feigned outrage at the photo but it will be interesting to see where the story ends up. There is a much bigger widespread issue in racing that needs to be discussed and that is to do with the level of public funds and tax breaks issued. The sport has major issues with corruption, doping, money laundering and animal welfare but the racing industry will probably circle the wagons for fear of greater exposure.

O'Leary isn't soft I'm sure there was a swift renegotiation of training fees and % of winnings going forward based on the 'pain and suffering'.

Elliott would have had to cave if he lost Gigginstown he'd have lost the rest as well!

Online banking has its limitations!
https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2021/02/citibank-just-got-a-500-million-lesson-in-the-importance-of-ui-design/

I remember one of the lads tills was £700 short on a particular day... we searched for an hour after work and most of the next day before we had to write it off as a counting error.

3 months later when the fella had left this elderly woman landed with her passbook which had noted a £700 withdrawal 3 months previous which hadn't been entered into the system. Your man had given her the cash/filled out her passbook but forgot to enter it on the computer!!

It surprised me how much human error there is in banking and was my first real eye opener that the institutions you expect to be infallible are anything but!

I worked in branch for a few years in my younger days and it really is a generational thing. Elderly/older people think of money as tangible and that a bank is storing their money for them.

We used to have an elderly lady who thought we literally held all her money in the branch and one of the girls used to shake a money box at her saying "It's all still here". They had a strange relationship with passbooks as well and a belief that if they lost the passbook they lost their money.

They find it hard to trust that it all exists digitally and that their debit card is where all the money is at they have a comfort in thinking that the bank is storing it all for them.

Of course I'm generalising a lot here but that was my experience anyways.

Chilwell was £50m and an England International... Tierney is Scotlandís 2nd choice left back.

Donít get me wrong heís an excellent player but stop making up stupid figures for his transfer £25m is exactly what he was worth at the time. A player is only worth what someone wants to pay for him and there are plenty of clubs who could have paid more than Arsenal but didnít because he wasnít worth it!

On what planet is Tierney worth 70/80m. Deluded!

Van Dijk was £75m

Parks and Recreation good too after a slow first season. Only watching the American Office now too and it is very good. Finished Spy with Sasha Baren Cohen and it was excellent.

Been on a Parks & Rec binge since the weekend. . . it's very funny with some great comic actors in it Ansari/Pratt/Poehler/Jones/Plaza/Offerman are serious operators it's very funny it surprised me to be honest.

I've really enjoyed it and it's short too which helps.

Aye, but would the missus think its funny?

Definitely one for the wife as well it's good that way.

Iím a bit sceptical about Crypto too if Iím honest... a few people I follow on Twitter have turned full Crypto and keep talking it up linking to massively favourable articles etc.

It has the air of the emperors new clothes people are that desperate to talk it up are they just doing this to inflate the price higher so they profit? Is it a real thing or is the value just made up like the football index or some of these random investments?

At the same time Iíd hate to miss out but Iím definitely not convinced... ďThe Great ResetĒ sounds like an offshoot of Qanon!

You picked two sides pushing for CL spots this year.

The point I made is if the board aren't showing any ambition they'll end up with one of the names you don't want.

Of course it depends on the boards ambition. We have both the resources and reputation to attract a top manager but it depends if the board are serious about improving Celtic

As for Everton and West Ham.

I highly doubt either will be in the CL next season.

Neither will Celtic

Why do you say that?

First of, they have to keep Hibs off second spot, and secondly they have to qualify through the early stages.  Form would suggest they will struggle, optimism will not do it

They are 12 points ahead of Hibs with 8 games left. They have second spot sewn up.

I would say Celtic are probably 4x more likely to be in the CL next season than Everton or West Ham.

Hibs win their game in hand and its 9 points... Again Celtic's form and if they play Rangers twice that's a loss of 6 points, do they play Hibs in the run in?  Be interesting

For that to happen Hibs would need to get 13 more points than Celtic in their last 9 games. If Hibs went on a 9 game winning run they would still need Celtic to drop 14 points and Hibs are not going on a 9 game winning run.

2nd place is done and dusted for Celtic.

And they're letting Hibs play first next weekend to put pressure on Celtic . . . talk about your double standards!!

Looking at the CL path for next season with Celtic.

They would have three qualifying rounds to have navigate with Celtic entering the 1st qualifying round.

R1
Celtic
PSV (currently 2nd in the Dutch League)
Besiktas (currently 2nd in the Turkish League)
Rapid Vienna (currently 2nd in the Austrian League)
FC Midtjyland (currently 2nd in the Danish League)
Sparta Prague (currently 2nd in the Czech)

Celtic will likely be seeded for this round. Three winners will progress to next round

R2
3 teams who progress from above
Braga (3rd in Portuguese league)
PSG* (currently 3rd in France)
CSKA (2nd in Russia)
Shakthar (2nd in Ukraine)
Antwerp (2nd in Belgium)

Celtic won't be seeded in this round. 4 winners progress to play off round with two ties and the two winners qualifying for the CL.

PSG look like the outlier there but will probably finish in the top 2 anyway.

Outside of that it will be tricky for Celtic but they certainly should not be in awe of any of those sides.

A potential path of

Rapid Vienna
Besiktas
CSKA

is more than doable.

What if they get Sparta Prague first who have beaten them 4-1 home and away this season... then they're goosed!
