Are GAA people unique among sports followers in never reading, listening or taking in the formats, rules etc of competitions?
Mod 5 laid it all out for ye.
You can't draw the 3rd from your own Group and can't be repeats of Provincial Finals.

I'm a busy man.  Thanks for enlightening me  :D
Trying to up the 6 Cos productivity ;D?

Singlehandedly, doing my best  ;D

Are the pre-lim's an open draw, whereby if 2nd, you can draw any 3rd from another group .. or are there any limitations e.g. can't play a team you've already played?

Expect Tyrone will be flakey v Westmeath. Either could go through which means undoubted injury time excitement.

There is an inherent madness in Tyrone if they win this match. They can beat anyone.

Nope, they won't beat too many based on last weekend's showing.  13 pts against 14 man Armagh who were dreadful but still could have nicked it at the end.

It's a great town for the weekend break, not so sure for the day trip to a Sunday evening match though.  But we'll be there.

Why Croke Park? Another bigger capacity provincial ground would be more suitable.

I'd say there are commercial aspects to this as well ... if I was an advertiser in Croke Park, or a Premium ticket holder, I'd need to be getting a good few games at the venue to justify the investment.

I'd say this game would pull 20k max to Croke Park, and that could be a stretch.

Páirc Uí Chaoimh is available ;D

It's on the bucket list to attend a game there, I guess we could get the chance in the 2024 league  :D

There's nothing available on general sale or for season ticket holders as of yet

Must be some reason for the delay given the other matches are already on sale.

Any word on Armagh/Galway tickets yet?

The other games already on sale, no sign of Armagh/Galway tickets as yet.  Or are they distributing them through the clubs again due to capacity of 9k?

Bryson, Nesbitt, Paisley, Foster, Alderdice. They'll all talking about a Unity Ref and they are all worried.

Wait till you hear Bin Lorry of the Newsletter almost in tears, pleading for help from the UK Gov and anyone else who'll listen about the plight Unionism finds itself in.

Listened back to that Ben Lowry interview and it really was something else, he sounded as if he needed a good cold shower after it. It's well worth a listen just to hear what the editor of the main Unionist media outlet actually thinks about things. He is totally consumed by the Union at the expense of everything else and it does reflect a lot of unionist thinking and more particularly that older generation.

If political unionism continues on its current course of action then I think a border poll will be much quicker to take place than we imagine and most likely within 5-10 years. By denying Irish language rights, batting for the hardest form of Brexit, denying a nationalist first minister, cosying up to ERG Tories for political titles etc etc they have simply mobilised nationalists. Then lundifying anybody from their own side who shows the slightest form of compromise or long term strategic thinking. If they actually tried to be more reasonable they could probably prolong their precious Union for a generation but I just don't don't think its in them as they try and outdo each other in a contest to see who can be the ultra superbrit.

Lowry on BBC and Lowry on RTE are different people.  He rants and raves like a bigoted lunatic north of the border, yet, when on RTE, he's as good as gold and much more tempered in his outlook.  Either way, the northern Lowry is most likely the real one, and he knows the union is in terminal decline.

In some ways, this game is a free roll of the dice for Armagh, so I'd expect them to give it a rattle.  I'd be concerned that the exertions of getting past Westmeath, and just a 7 day turnaround, could come back to haunt us against a rested Tyrone outfit who don't want to be looking for their first win in the last game of the group.  I expect it to be tight and come down to the last few minutes of the game, well I hope that's the case and Tyrone ain't out of sight before then.  Should be a bumper crowd in Healy Park on a sunny Saturday evening.

The kickouts  in the final minutes of the UF cost Armagh dearly.  Yesterday, it appeared nothing had been learned as Armagh continued to give away possession, especially in the final minutes again when the game was there for the taking for Westmeath.

Very impressed by Westmeath, they deserved the points last evening.  No. 14, John Heslin, a special talent.

Armagh seemed leggy and lacked energy,  especially after Rian missed the goal chance early on, it seemed to go down hill from there.  Might have been the UF hangover, or maybe they'd done a big training session midweek incorrectly expecting to beat Westmeath handy enough.

Would worry that the tax of last nights game will further impact Armagh next Saturday in Omagh, but hopefully not, hopefully the lads recover well and are ready to give it a lash against Tyrone.

Either way, it's all about jockeying for position in the table, most likely position 2 or 3.  Win one of the last two games and it's a home tie in the Q/F prelim.  Lose both and it's away to a potential big gun.  As someone mentioned earlier, I'm questioning whether the effort to win a tough group is worth it, given the straight passage to the Q/F and a 2 week break, either way, squad depth is more crucial now given the additional games.

Hopefully the person who took unwell after the game is on the mend, thoughts with him and his family.
