It's a pity alot of the German cars are now boring and fugly looking. They haven't really moved on with their designs. People like paying for the badge which is fair enough if that's what they want but there isn't a BMW or Audi or VW I'd buy right now as I think they all look bland.
Actually I would like the VW Arteon but that's about it.
I know they are owned by German companies now but the Skodas and Seats are better looking cars now imo.
I liked the Superb Estate but nearly every one on the road now is a cop car which has put me right off them. I like the Volvo V90 Estate but no idea about reliability.
I like Estates myself have enough of the SUVs. I'm going to go back to an estate for my next car. New Octavia Estate is lovely.
My son in law has just bought the Octavia Scout, it's a great car. I'm on my third Superb and can't see me buying anything other than Skoda.

Strong rumours of Coutinho to Villa at this stage.  The Gerrard effect or is the lad desperate for games to get himself into the Brazil world cup team, or a combination of both?  He obviously isnt short of offers from other clubs so i still wouldn't be shocked if he turned his gaze elsewhere in the end.

If he does come, it would be great to have a player of that calibre at Villa park. The hope would be that he is still somewhere near his best.

IF, he does come I'm sure the Vile won't be long in bringing him '"down" to their level...

Just watched a brilliant documentary that randomly appeared on my Netflix recommendations called I Believe in Miracles. It's about the Forest team that got promoted and went on to win the League and a couple of European Cups. Very good and worth a watch.

A brilliant team and even now so underrated.
The show 8tself is one of the best sport's documentaries I've seen. I was surprised at how much I remembered of those days?
Kenny Burns was virtually uncontrollable until Clough got hold of him and made him the player he became. I didn't know about Archie Gemmill's falling out with Clough but I guess he fell out with nearly everyone eventually?
He was one arrogant, egotistical bully but what a football manager!

Shuggie Bain by Douglas Stuart.
Semi autobiographical novel set in Glasgow in the 80s.
What a brilliantly crafted book.
Thanks for the recommendation. Brilliant book.

Sad news, a Celtic legend and a brilliant character, told some great stories of his playing days with the hoops
Fondly remembered at Birmingham City too.
RIP Bertie.

Today is the anniversary of the death of Pope Nicholas I. He was mad about roosters.
Were they waxy or floury.

Hi all,

Good news in that after 4 nights in hospital for my ileostomy reversal, I got home last Saturday evening (6 Nov).  Things went well overall, but this week has been rough enough with the expected incontinence issues.  There is a small improvement yesterday and today, which is enough to allow me to get some beneficial sleep.

The value of good sleep is about the most important thing I've learned over the last 2 years.  Things will improve week by week, hopefully, and I'll be in reasonable shape for 1 Dec and in good shape for 1 Jan.

Thanks for all the support...another couple of months and this will all be done and I'll settle into the "new normal" for my body.
