QuoteJP McManus donation: Tyrone GAA have worked out they have in effect 108 'clubs' affiliated to the three governing associations (the GAA, LGFA and Camogie). So in real terms a Tyrone club affiliated with one association receives just over £9k euro, a club with two, twice that etc.

What would the breakdown of that be?
47 Football clubs, 10 Hurling clubs, 8 Camogie clubs and 43 Ladies football?

So Carrickmore for example are entitled to 4 x 9k = 36k?

out of interest whats the make up of the 10 hurling clubs in the county?

Football and hurling aren't seperated as both fall under GAA.

E.g. Omagh would get 3 cheques - 1 for GAA (football/Hurling), 1 for Ladies Football and 1 for Camogie.

They would be separate if they are separate clubs, e.g St Colmcilles / Eire Og or Clarkes : Eoghan Rua.

Off the top of my head they are

Eire Og (Carrickmore)
Eoghan Rua (Dungannon)
Na Seomragi (Strabane)
Naomh Colmcille (Clonoe parish)
Omagh
Cappagh
Fintona
Benburb
Clogher Valley
O'Neill's (Cookstown)

NB, Eire Ogs is a distinct club from Carrickmore Naomh Colmcilles so they would get 9k for hurling and 9k for Camogie whilst Noamh Colmcilles have a ladies club and would get 18k also.

Looking at results there appears to be around 11 Camogie clubs.
Eire Og
Naomh Threasa (Dungannon)
Fr Shields
Oneills (Cookstown?)
Derrylaughan
Tattyreagh
Omagh
Eglish
Killyclogher
Naomh Brid (Brocagh)
Edendork

A good start might be to call on the DUP to go into government rather than aiming their anger at CHH.

They don't need the DUP in Government to get a pay rise. CHH has it in his power.

Many pleaded guilty and paid the "shortfall" rather than risk trial and imprisonment.

How many more quietly paid multiple small  "shortfalls" to regularly balance the books and are out of pocket with no record of the money lost.

Will it be U12 and U16 starting first with U14 and Minor running from July, like last year?
Or will it be back to U14 and Minor starting first, with U12 and U16 running from July?

The latter makes more sense if they ever finish off 2023 minors.

As county minors are u17 they dont disrupt club minors as much as when they were aligned. They would impact u16's as much as u18's.
Let club minors finish up to release players for Senior / reserve football.
Start date for Minors is maybe the biggest issue for underage football in the county at present.
Last year minors started in July and ended up clashing with Senior Championship and ran on until December.
The previous two years it started in March but was put on hold for the County Minor season to take place and ended up overlapping with U16s and still ended up being played into the autumn.
Both start dates created issues, maybe some sort of hybrid approach would be best. Start minors in March and aim to get league group phase played, and then put it on hold when the County season starts. At this point U16 season to begin and return to minors later. No straight forward solution to the Minor Problem.

In both those 2 previous years the club minors was u17 and aligned with county age groupings. Clubs are now back to u16 and u18 and so there is some overlap for both age groups with County u17's.
An additional complication may be the expansion of minor championship to a glorified league with a round robin.

It does that, at least by the time I go back to work in the new year the days are lengthening, if only marginally. It gets you thinking about spring.

In Ireland, people have not lost the run of themselves they way they did in 2007.

You read of queues for food vouchers etc, I would be interested in the stories behind these; e.g. excessive rent might be squeezing the food budget.

Not up north they haven't or even close. Are you just talking about the south here because in the north or the remainder of the UK that is very very far from the truth particularly for public sector workers.

Clearly public sector workers are screwed, but someone is getting increases, many in the private sector are doing OK.

Is that take home pay they are referring to when it is taking about monthly pay and comes from PAYE data?

Donaghmore, Killyman, Castlederg, Brocagh would be only 4 that I would say haven't been competitive this year

With Killyman and Brocagh combining underage is there any appetite for a merger? Are both clubs still fielding reserve teams?

Seems the underage of Naomh Brid (Killyman and Brocagh amalgamation) is going well with them winning 2 titles this year in their respected grades. As for the senior reserves teams of both clubs, Killyman conceded all reserve games last year while brocagh conceded 7 reserve games (3 Home games 4 Away games).

Sounds like they could just about field 3 teams, though the same could have been said of Naomh Eoghan.

The risk of an amalgamation is losing players as you are effectively reducing the number of starting berths.
