General discussion / Re: Mary Lou McDonald biography
October 10, 2022, 10:30:43 PM
From what I've been reading about the book it seems to be a fairly objective bio - Mary Lou was accommodating to an extent, the main SF players were not.
Shane Ross has experience of working with Mary Lou on an Oireachtas committee and is well disposed towards her despite obvious political differences.

Brian Mullins 68.

Sad and quite shocked to hear of the passing of such an icon - a true Dubs great.
One could hate his guts and at the same time marvel at how he drove on his team.

Clubs referring to themselves as "the town". How unimaginative is that?

Nothing to do with imagination - it's tradition.
C'mon the Town has been the catchcry of Zach's home club, Portlaoise, for decades (as indeed it has been for other towns, e.g. Athlone Town FC in soccer).

Congratulation to Zach - he did his town proud.

It's look like a serious management team with Eamon Fitzmaurice and Donie Buckley also involved
Colm O Rourke will be manager rumours are Eamon fitzmaurice is coach and assistant manager, Donie Buckley coach and Barry Callaghan Stephen Bray selectors. Meath ladies S and C coach who was also Jimmy McGuinnes S and C coach Ivers also part of management team. Strong looking management team.

Gosh - they are only short of a good Nutrionist / Herbalist  ;)

Good time to be stepping in with Dublin possibly on the wane.

Great win for Armagh - delighted for their long suffering supporters.
Hopefully it's onwards and upwards for them.
Great banter on this DB back in their halcyon days - any chance of a Tony Fearon comeback

Hugely enjoyable game - credit to both reams.
