GAA Discussion / Re: galway v donegal

Donegal team announced. Probabaly not worth taking this too seriously, but no place for Eoin McHugh or Darach O'Connor on the bench:

donegalgaa.ie/2015/07/donegal-panel-v-galway/

According to Chris McNulty on Donegal Sports Hub, O'Connor was "ruled out because of a reoccurrence of a knee injury", which is a shame. Not been his year.

For all its failings please dont let it decline at the expense of ladies football which is the biggest load of tripe ever

I have no idea what possesses someone to make comments like that. Ladies football is (usually) a damn fun sport to watch.

Galway could sneak this one. They're not a bad team at all, have an excellent set of forwards and pretty good midfielders to boot.

Even if the lads grind out a win, I'd fear a horrible outing against Mayo the next day. I can't see them ramping the performance levels up enough in that time.

The best pundits seem to be the ones who've done a bit of managment recently. They know more about players, tactics, how the modern game operates. Others have managed in the past or not at all and are left behind with their poor level of knowledge and analysis.

yeah, i've really been enjoying James Horan on Newstalk so far. Very thoughtful. Wooly's a little bit reactionary, but seems like a good guy

I tried the RTÉ GAA podcast a couple of weeks ago, after Donegal - Armagh and it was an unholy mess of regurgitated nonsense

Except for 2013, you're spot on, and long may it last. Wish it was like that across the board.

Got a lift sorted now so I can't wait.  :D

Thanks to all on here for the help.

Up the minors too!

you'd be welcome anywhere - Red Neds is as good as you'll find - short walk from the field.

Sounds perfect a chara, I'll head in there afterwards!

Always liked Armagh ones, we got a great many of you in Rann na Feirste over the years, including a couple of lads that I hope have an awful day Sunday, and a fine remainder of the summer.  :D

Lads, any recommendations for a good, supporter-friendly pub in Armagh city to watch the Galway-Mayo match in afterwards?

I can see why he'd make the effort to defend London, but he might have been best to leave it there.

That said, he spoke very well earlier in the week on TG's coverage of the Comórtas Peile.

A real shame for the five clubs involved.

There are certain comments which are beyond the pale. If authenticated The culprits should be named and shamed, let their friends and family see the depths they would stoop to.

They're minors, they absolutely should not be either named, or shamed. Deal with it privately, it's a chance for them to learn and grow as people. There's many the idiot of a  teenager that grows up to be a great man.

Really, really looking forward to this.

It'll be my first trip to what seems like an excellent new ground, to see the lads play a county that I would have spent half my teens cursing!

Plenty of decent footballers in that Armagh team, and they've an excellent support when they get the wagon rolling. It'd be great to see them burst through, but hopefully through the qualifiers  :P
